Hyundai’s new minicar to be modular and minimalist

Hyundai is developing a minicar much like the Toyota iQ that aims to be “funkier”, more basic and more functional. A source in Hyundai likened the new vehicle ideally to be modular and minimalist in a Citroen 2CV kind of way. Hyundai is considering offering a single baseline model for easy and efficient supplier sourcing and manufacturing, but offering customisation packs for the cabin and paintwork for owners to individualize their cars. Above is Theophilus Chin‘s take on the new car, which he has decided to name the Hyundai i0 (i-Zero). A rear view is available after the jump.

I don’t really like the “more basic” part. This looks like its going to be a kancil with 2 seats but slightly better than that tata nano.

Theophilus, that rendering reminds me of the old Daihatsu Charade. Even colour are the same.

Hyundai is now aiming to beat toyota…even their genesis advertisement says ‘isnt time someone did to lexus what lexus did to mercedes?’…they compared the genesis’s measurements to GS’s measurements in the advetisement itself…so as the sonata copying the camry…

    now the i0…
