New Kia compact MPV to be showcased at Geneva

Kia will be unveiling a new compact MPV concept at the Geneva Motor Show this March. No details on the car have been unveiled other than the fact that it will have a unique glass roof treatment – this probably translates into panoramic roof. The new MPV is likely going to be an MPV version of the cee’d, much like what the Golf Plus is to the Golf and the Peugeot 3008 to the 308. It is likely to be a new MPV slotted below the Rondo as looking at the side profile of the MPV shown above, the rear overhang is just way too short to accomodate a third row like the Rondo can.

Kia has improved a lot with their design lately. Very nice curvacious exterior though the backside has a little bit similarity to Savvy. Hate the rim… looks a bit like kuih jenderam… lol

Kia YN concept
As anticipated, Kia released the first teaser image of it’s forthcoming concept car which is slated to debut at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show at the beginning of March. The YN concept car belongs to the group of sub-compact mini-MPVs, a vehicle segment that has seen spurring sales in recent years particularly on European car market.
A stunning Kia YN concept vehicle was penned by a car-design guru Peter Schreyer and is expected to redefine the mini MPV segment by bringing style and cool to what is currently a bland segment of the new car market. According to Kia, the YN concept will feature a dramatic glass-roof treatment and will provide astounding spaciousness in a compact package.
The world premiere of Kia YN concept car will be taking place at the 2009 Salon de l’Automobile in Geneva (Switzerland) with the official press conference scheduled for 12.45pm. [Source: Kia]

YN is a B-segment MPV/CUV. The Forte/Ceed interior reminds me of modern day VWs a lot. This should be good.
