LEAKED: Is this the new F10 BMW 5-series?

If this image above is truly a leak of the front end of the F10 BMW 5-Series, then BMW is moving back to the days of the E46/E39/E38 where all its 3 sedans look pretty much like different sizes of each other. The supposed 5-Series in the photo above (that found its way onto the 5Post forums) features the new F1-inspired hood from the E90 3-Series LCI (facelift) and the large kidneys from the 7-Series, albeit less squarish but in a more appealing slightly rectangular shape. It has a very aggressive and muscular look. If this is the standard F10, can you imagine what the M5 will look like?

  • the design looks ok..i hope the large kidneys will lean backward a bit..not straight like the 7 series..that will make it looks nice..better than the current 5 series.

Very Merc-ish looking headlamps and too many lines on the bonnet cover.. the kidneys oversizes the headlamps too.. :P Lots of LEDs on the front.. wonder how the rear looks like..

Finally , if the image above is true for new 5 series ..this is gonna be so awesome. A 5th series that looks like a BMW legacy .. not some hotel furniture display wannabe like the current model. Man, each time i look at rear lights of the current design .. I wonder why even bother buying it when I feel its not even worth looking at. Gone is the sissy gay metro look, and welcome the new topgun "I'll eat your ass for breakfast look".!!! Bravo Beemer and all the best

what you've just said is like asking mercedes to stop using the 3-pointed star, coz its become too common with its brand.

The "kidney" grill "is" the brand identity of bmw. it cannot be changed and should not. it can evolve though, as it is now. its a brand that is recognised the world over. its a symbol and mark of everything that the brand stands for, its values, promise and why people buy the car, and for those who desire to own it.

brand identity is something all products strive for. and once you've got it, companies will spend insane amounts of money to grow, or maintain it.
