I was in Malyasia for the "grand deluge de Sepang 2009". With my Thai media colleagues. Grand stand F22-28. What a race! Now regarding "Jag".
Five nights and six days in peninsular Malyasia - and I did not see one single Jaguar. Not even a secon hand XJ, XX or XXX. The car is a besoke and sporty de-luxe saloon. I tested one a few years ago 199km/h to Chonburi (Pattya). "Jolly good drive. Let' have acup of tea". AAS Thailand Co., Ltd. is the importer Porsche and Jaguar. Showroom near the old airport Donn Mu-ang

But the old Jag "motorcar" as the Brits say is a tad anachronistic just like the "landed gentry", "wellington's", "Burburry" (wearing your coat lining on the outside) "scones & five o'clock tea" using AM/PM time and that sort of thing - including Jaguar. And what happened to the "British racing green" Jaguar F1 machine?

Maybe Proton should take over Jag downsize it, outsource it and make it a Malyasian Peoples Sporty-car. Volks-Sporty-Wagen. Jagguarr Proton Petronas VSW. 169 horsepower should do. Two turbines and four pipes (looks cool). Biofuel. Palm oil or oil palm. And a totally recycleable,
rainforest friendly hybrid alternative.

luv the design , i tink 90% of those who buy it bcos its sting new and fresh and not sting common on roads like Es and 5s , more like a weekend car , but i have a feeling those who buy it , thy oso have a 5 or an E at home as well !

its one of those cars wen u buy , u wd have wished to have bought one of the germans..bcos the looks and design will eventually die off....n u will be left with the disapointments paul mentioned above....im jus wondering why all the popular UK magazines and sites review this car all get 5 star rating....biased i guess....!

Well, VW introduced hidden AC vents with their Phaeton long before the XF came out. They had a different operation mode though. During normal use the air vents are not meant to open at all with the air-conditioning channelling the air flow from various apertures around the car. It is only when you need rapid cooling that the air vents will open and shut after the desired temperature has been achieved.

The XF ones seem to open each time you use the AC.
the gimmicky stuff in the car definitely makes it feel pretty cool, and make the driver feel a little special, but i think the novelty will wear off.. i mean.. hidden aircon vents that open after starting the engine? whats the point of that? i just find it strange that jaguar would resort to gimmicks. i can understand if this were a japanese car..
i think it's elegant, when it's not a car, means engine not on, it can be place in ur porch as center piece also can. it's an art! yet, it can be sporty. i would say, bmw 5series cant match it in terms of interior refinement n elegance.

Nicely done, Paul.

Personally, I feel RM480k for a car this cool isn't exactly too bad value. A 3.0 V6 powerplant is probably a little weak for a car this size. The higher-end 4.2 version ought to do better.
