I can't help but to remember the ill fated FEELING 101 which was launched by the same company a few years back. Not only was the 101 handicapped with a full menu of electronic gremlins, it was totally gutless (i.e. no power) and further marred by a dated-design suspension. Window-based control system? Don't make me laugh. I hope Yulon is not hoping the "users" to having to re-boot the Luxgen when system decides to "hang" in the middle of the highway. That's what everyone do with their PC or latop. Right?
It is certainly a bold move to launch a new car model in 2009 when Chrysler and GM are rushing to file chapter 11. Porsche and VW merging. And, with a boat load of wannabe PRC car companies itching to get off the block.

Hi Everyone. I live in Taiwan. Just went to see the car. It looks OK. Loaded version (top one) which I saw in the show room priced as NT$1,068,000 which is equivalent to USD approx. $33,400. It has 8 cameras, GPS navigation, 10.2" LCD screen. Also DVD system. So the price is really good. The gear box is from Japan, the engine is Taiwanese, not Nissan nor GM. So we will have to see how this car will be on the road and listen what people have to say after they use it for a while.

look at the details even to those minutes ones. Built quality should be high too. Nowadays, never under estimate a product from Taiwan.

I'm sure about it. proton was Dr. M brainchild. it is the badge engineering of Lancer went to Taiwan first, but Dr. M grab this oppurtinity to shift our economy from agriculture and comodity based to heavy industries. this is after 1985 recession. HICOM also born on the same period. You can ask Dr.M through his chedet.cc about this.

For me the design team yet to work out very hard on the exterior. Since this model is based on Renault Ecspace looks like they don't alter the front side. Since the original Escpace is sleeker curve hood look so this MPV should at first place adjust the side windscreen, so the resemblance of the Escpace is not there. Then for me to have buldging hood it's must have straight sidelines rather than arch sidelines, unless it's balance just like Merc CLS.

i went to Yulon last year, its old plant starting on late 1970's (if i'm not mistaken)

i believe proton plant is more hi tech compare to Yulon. Even i havent to tjg malim, from what i heard proton is better.

The only different between msian n taiwanese, is about attitude. they are 'same' like japanese, n i hv no doubt they can produce such this model.

After Exora, i believe Proton can do better. perhaps better than yulon car.

cheers

I like this MPV, its design is quite vogue. Will this car be imported to Malaysia? If so, I think this will be huge challenge to upcoming mode Proton MPV. Hope
its bigger than the toyota innova, and even bigger than the estima..

there is no way you can compare this mpv to proton exora.

its in a totally different class..

but then again, i wouldnt dare buy this mpv. would you?
Why not?
simple. there are so many other choices in malaysia. i'll go for someone with a longer track record in malaysia.
Actually those badged engineerning of Lancer and Saga between Mitsubishi and Proton in the early 1980's were eventually offered to Taiwan in the first place. They refuse, and Dr.M with his vision persuade Ku Li (then Finance minister) to proceed with it.
are you certain about what you're saying? this company, yulon has been in the industry way before proton was even an idea in a persons head. they were partnering with nissan at the time we didnt even have our own country yet.

and from what little that i know, proton was conceived right from the very beginning in 1983 to be a malaysian car manufacturer. the way your comment goes, seems to say that proton was created for taiwan(why taiwan?), and when taiwan "refuse" (as if they were being forced??), then only Dr. M say proton is national car company.. Are you sure???!!?

the 2nd final pic is confusing me.is it the A shape window panel at the side mirror is body colored?the other picture show that part is a glass.
