Next Audi RS3 to feature the 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine from the TT RS
Rumor has it that a member of Audi’s board of management for technical development has revealed that the auto maker is considering to produce a new Audi RS3. Most importantly, the new RS3 is expected to be powered by the same 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine which is under the hood of the recently launched Audi TT RS.
If the new RS3 features the same weight as the TT RS, the turbocharged powerplant with 340HP and 450Nm of torque will be able to propel the RS3 to the 100 km/h mark in 4.6 seconds, and all the way to a top speed of 288 km/h.
However, the next Audi A3 is scheduled to debut in 2011, so the RS3 will most probably follow suit at least a year or two later. We will bring you the latest updates. Stay tuned!

I always been impartial to Audi…but their design have been looking really good lately…this a3 could challenge head to head with the Volks Golf i guess. Still waiting for the Audi Q5 to our shore….i’ll definately buy that!

probably going head to head with the R32 to be more on par..
But with turbo charging, it wil outrun the R32 massive NA engined hot hatch.
If the RS3 comes with quattro, and Audi’s DSG Gbox, it will be one really really sweet hot hatch..

the last thing they want is to go head to head with the R32, as they are from the same group of companies. so its definitely not in the same target market exactly.

Same here, it should be AWD… I hope.
man, 4.6secs to 100? isn’t that similar specs to RS4 (4.7secs) , R8 (4.4secs) or even M3 (4.4secs)?
This is ONE VERY FAST hot hatch!
