I personally don't like to purchase diesel powered vehicles because of that knocking sound that gets louder as the car ages. unavoidable really. Assuming that this test is done in country where the diesel is better quality than ours, I think generally diesel still produces more smoke than petrol. Unless we're using biodiesel which gives french fries smell or something like that, the black smoke and the smell of diesel would be a major deterrent for me to use diesel unless someone can suggest otherwise. just my personal view....
