Not that suprised Paul. If you check the current Honda Accord sold in Malaysia and compare it to the current Honda Legend, you will notice the body size is the same! Honda Legend is suppose to be the premium version, and the size does ont show for it.

I am getting worried that this trend will continue. Next time, people will need to downgrade class as the smaller class is as big as the bigger class. I can see people ditching the 5 series to the 3 series or the Civic over the Accord this way

There are people who wanted to improve like the Civic example given, and there are people who wanted to stay put like the Saga. No harm done. It's own preference of own's life. It's a marvelous game some strategic manupulators has successfully make people think it is good to at least I have a SAGA, then realized about paying a SAGA's price for a Civic if buying elsewhere. I think some poll lately people thinks differently now.

I'd prefer proton's strategy really. Frankly, I think it's ridiculous for every new generation to grow so big unnecessarily. "Exisiting Civic user need a new and improve Civic year after year, so Honda listen to it and upgrade their Civic lining gradually."? What, so its like Civic owners only buy Civic in their lifetime, n these owners continuously grow 200cm taller every 3 years? What kinda sad human being is that…… "Consumer feeling no major advancement"? Tell me abt it. New saga with campro iafm 1.3 feels much, much more powerful than my 1991 1.5 auto.

I suppose in the next ten years, the accord will be the size of blue whale, designed to make King Kong feel spacious in it.

ya tats why we will be looking at the 1 series later… coz by the time we can afford RM200k++, it wont buy us the new 3 series anymore… it will have grown out of size and budget…

Dear paul, that's actually how the car industry has gone. Take for example the Civic. When they make their first debut it is only 600cc cars in early 70's. Then late 70's upgraded to 1.2l, follow by 1.5 with bigger body in 80's, 1.6 in the 90's (in sedan form as well from those hatchback before), 1.8 and 2 litres in 2000's. They grow up. Why? Exisiting Civic user need a new and improve Civic year after year, so Honda listen to it and upgrade their Civic lining gradually. To replace the Cicic original market, they introduce new range of cars like Jazz and City. It is unlikely with Proton which we know why they are suffering before because Proton Saga 1.3 & 1.5 in 80's, Iswara 1.3 & 1.5 in 90's, Wira 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0D with the same body dimension to Saga's class, Gen-2 with 1.3 and 1.6. Consumer feeling no major advancement. This is really what marketing in automobile industry do to coup with advancement and consumer taste.

tech m, i guess it'll depend on what you want. i think both cars are good. and the A4 is best bang for the buck. But i disagree with db8 that the A4 looks so much better. the A4 has not changed since the B4. the looks are a lil dated.

Great review. The new 3 series does indeed look gorgeous.

Is the standard 325i still available with the facelift, or does it only come in 325i sport?

I'm thinking of getting a 325i or An A4 B8 2.0TFSI when it hits the shores later this year. Which do you reckon would be better?
