BMW X6 M to function as MotoGP 2009 safety car

[zenphotopress number=99 album=238]

One of the earliest ways for a Middle Eastern customer to see a BMW X6 M in action in person is at the MotoGP 2009 leg in Qatar, which happens right now during this weekend. It’s done up in a nice traditional M paint job which includes white paint and blue and BMW M stripes.

The BMW X6 M will function as a safety car alongside its sibling the BMW M6. The fact that they paired these two cars together further implies BMW marketing’s want to position this is a bona fide coupe, or a
Sports Activity Coupe to be precise.

BMW competing with Mercedes on their safety car/pace car? I'm guessing the X6 is not a safety car used in a "safety car" lap, but rather as a medical/emergency car. No doubt a marketing ploy. Would've loved to see the 7 series or a M7 gracing race tracks soon then. :D

We're having a very2 heavy rain yesterday, which is very rare here in Qatar since I'm working here for the past 3 years. The MotoGP has to be postponed due to the glare produced by the floodlight. I saw both of the car, X6 M and M6, took a few pictures of it, and the only thing I can say is I was amazed by the acceleration of the X6 M. My 6.0L Lumina SS is as quick also liaw. Hehe!! And, tonight will be a lucky draw. 1st prize BMW 325i, 2nd KTM 525XC ATV, and 3rd will be Ducati (cannot remember the model).

  • Yeap…now its called Petronas Fiat Yamaha (not sure the order)…anyway, Stoner won the race last nite and Rossi 2nd…7 sec behind, Stoner's Ducati is soo damn fast but only he can tame it, his team mate(hayden) had difficulties taming that duke…(remind me of what happen to Melandri last year)
