Aston Martin Rapide all set for late-2009 debut

Aston Martin Rapide

The Aston Martin Rapide is still on schedule for a late 2009 debut and has now entered the final stages of its development process. It’s been a long time since the concept was shown in 2006 but it still looks as sexy as ever, a timeless design!

Under the hood will be a 470 horsepower 600Nm V12 engine with 6.0 liters of displacement, hand-built at Aston Martin’s Cologne factory. There will be no funky all-wheel drive system here, the engine puts its power through the rear wheels only through a Touchtronic transmission. The whole car will be built at Magna Steyr’s facilities in Austria.

The Rapide will feature “swan wing” doors, which rise upwards and outsides as they open to facilitate access to the individual rear seats. Yes, this baby will be a 4-seater, with individually crafted sports seats at the rear.

very nice…but exact same design as db 9…even the interior…whereas the panamera and estoque are more eye catching..everything different..

however this is a concept, hopefully when its out, it will look better than a db 9…i hope they inject the one 77 genes into this…

Looks like Aston Martin DB9 sedan supercar version . Only ultra-luxury people can get it. You know that , every Aston martin new nodels always use the same platform, right?

its wonderous how they are people who always come on to paultan to just put comments like “same old colour”, “same old design”, “whats so great about the AMs”, etc etc etc… don’t like it? don’t read it!

as someone ele has said… don’t fix what’s not broken… AMs selling coz of their heritage and their timeless (not timeline) designs…

Best looking 4 Doors from many sports car maker. But then still don’t understand why they need to make 4 doors super cars, they are suppose to make good looking coupe or 2 seater.

This is like sportsman have to wear leather cloth when play badminton.
