I beg to differ….whats wrong with a convertible in malaysia? you can open the top early in the morning for the cool breeze.

anyway ppl always buy things that they don't really need or hardly use…see how many SUVs are out there on the road? how many of them go off road? most of them never. its like buying a convertible and NEVER opening the roof. how bout the huge mpvs like alphard/ naza ria. how often do you see tham fully loaded with 7 ppl? most of the time only 1 or 2 person inside. maybe only fully use once or twice a month.

another joker was commenting on the second hand value and hard to sell. did you check the prices of second hand convertibles? they normally still sell for almost twice the price of the full hardtop version.

the conclusion is …not everyone goes for a car that is practical and no fun. If you got 10 million dollars you still buy a practical saga with 4 doors?

I soo have to agree with quak58.. convertables in malaysia is just like having a wull jacket in the Sahara – abolutely useless.. Just imagine how hard it would be to sell them cars 2nd hand after you suffer from sun burn & lung disease from the poluted air .. But mini's are cool cars in general.. just too bad only the wealthy uncles with midlife chrisis can afford this car with that kind of price tag

Weve just got these down here in Australia, I went and had a look the other day and first impressions are quite impressive! The interior is hugely nice and reeks of quality! They will sell well all over the world.

My only negative is the Roof-Down Timer which seems abit of a wank…

A cabriolet in M'sia. This is just a recipe for disaster. Imagine driving a RM230K car where everyone can see who you are. It is like painting a bull's eye on your back with a big sign "rob me"!. With no protection of a roof I can just imagine the sucker that will be robbed at parang point whilst cruising around looking like a real cock. *sighs* If you are going to get this car, wear a bag over your head and carry a big gun.

Oh come on. Only babies can fit in that back seats or people without legs. Notice they move the front seat forward to create that legroom. It really is a small car. Also buyers of Mini produced between 2001-2007 beware as it has been shown on watchdog (UK) that the steering pump overheats and locks steering and worse case the wiring cathces fire

Just an honest opinion, I think MINI's marketing dept. spent too much money on just a short ad. They needn't build a full "Ferris Wheel" just for the stunts, and should instead use Computer Graphics to do so… That large thing would've costed a bomb…
