The results for Engine of the Year Awards 2009 should be subjected to severe auditing from independent sources.

I will only name 1 category where the results are simply outrageous to an extent far beyond comprehension: The Green Engine award.

The jury had several cars to choose from, and two nominees were the VW TSI and the new Prius 3G (3rd generation).

Having:

The VW with 174 hp, 6.2 L/100 km and 144 g/km CO2;
The Toyota with 136 hp, 3.9 L/100 km and 89 g/km CO2

The jury says the car which has:

+30% horsepower, 63% more fuel consumption, 62% more CO2 emissions

is the greenest car... yeah... right... is this for real!?!?!

The general public demands a general inquiry to this Jury votes right now!

This is a shameful representation of how strong lobbies can go.
I feel sick to the stomach reading this year's awards.

Shame on the jury!

Germans always have great engines. Just go through their history and you’ll see it.

----

it is true, German is the best in the field of engineering.. Japan have a good strategy of marketing and the a very high spirit.. if MALAYSIA have all this good values we can defeat them, Malaysia automotive industry need to look for the bright future, MALAYSIA NEED GERMAN ENGINEERING and the spirit of the Japanese.

Germans always have great engines. Just go through their history and you'll see it.
Japanese might sell more cars, but they sell them cheap. This means Japs have to sell many cars to make profit. German can easily make more profit out of each car they sell.

One of the problems with Japs and others is that they primarily copy technologies of others to sell them cheap. If you can only copy others, you're not thinking for yourself and you'll never be on top.

PROTON need to think wise la..

Volkswagen can get so much benefit if they partner with PROTON because they can enter South-East Asia more convenient.. but PROTON must convince them la, can sell more cars in South-East Asia.. rugi only, who want to believe? that's why la VW said they want to take control of the management to correct the things first

actually in year 2004, Volkswagen which have share in AUDI, PORSCHE, BUGATTI VEYRON agree to produce cars with PROTON, but later think again la, who want to rugi right?

http://www.worldcarfans.com/2041027.001/volkswagen-ag-and-proton-agree-long-term-strategic-partnership

PROTON.. go back to Volkswagen, get the best GERMAN ENGINEERING.. convince the Volkswagen that PROTON sell like hot pisang goreng in all over ASEAN to convince the germans. GERMAN ENGINEERING, MALAYSIA REALLY NEED IT! every year German win the world best engine, either it from BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen.. there is no doubt GERMAN ENGINEERING is the best in this world!

Woops sorry,

If i not mistaken the 1kr-ve is using lighter material right? Still using VVT-i also.

The difference if not mistaken just the head using aluminium, too cut weight n emission.

there is no doubt GERMAN ENGINEERING is the best in this world, even World Best Tank LEOPARD also was made in Germany (the first idea is from Necmettin Erbakan, the 27th Prime Minister of Turkey which study the engineering in RWTH Aachen University, Germany then German made him the chief of the first project of LEOPARD tank)

PROTON said want to have Diesel Engine (looking for partners), did they know that Diesel engine originated from Germany.. the inventor name is Rudolf DIESEL

MALAYSIA NEED THE BEST OF GERMAN ENGINEERING TO MOVE FORWARD!!!

PROTON and PERODUA need the best of german engineering

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_inventors_and_discoverers
http://www.zoomwhales.com/inventors/germany.shtml

I heard PROTON need Diesel Engine to compete in international market, did they know that diesel technology actually originated from German.. the name of the german inventor is Rudolf DIESEL

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Diesel

PROTON and PERODUA need to learn from the real master (the germans)
Germany is #1 the best for engineering study especially all about automotive and mechanical engineering.

did PROTON and PERODUA know that the 27th Prime Minister of Turkey name Necmettin Erbakan (study in Germany in RWTH Aachen University, Germany) is the chief of once best #1 tank in the world, the German Leopard tank..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necmettin_Erbakan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_1

MALAYSIA NEED GERMAN ENGINEERING TO SURVIVE IN THE FUTURE, Germans are the real master in engineering.. at least compete in Nurburgring 24 hours race in Germany, mess with the best.. shoot for the moon, even if you miss it you still can be among the stars..

Jap engines appears unable to compete with europeans. Why is there so many Jap cars in Malaysia? And what happenned to GEMA series? Unlisted? I tought Europeans liked Koreans better then Japs..
Proton should reconsider their JV with VW laa. The Volkswagen 1.4-litre TSI Twincharger installed in our Saga would be nice. Cheaper too, because they produce so many units.

Gajen said,
germans are dominating…toyota and honda seem to be struggling…

Don't worry dude, they still can make money in Malaysia since we don't care about engines... a facelift will do.... ehehehe

I hear a lot of talks about proton trying to protect the campro technology that's why they kicked VW out of the meeting room... well I don't see campro listed above... hehehe

The most stupid decision is to kick VW out from P1, and what we loss... They are world class manufacturer and win awards...

Anyway forget to tell you, Myvi 1.0L engine did win the award for the 1.0L category, it is the same 1.0L DVVT/VVT-i used. But i think they use more lighter material...

yeah.. I really wish PROTON will made in GERMANY

GERMAN ENGINEERING is the best in engine making! German dominated the Best International engine award again...

AUDI, BMW, PORSCHE, VOLKSWAGEN, MERCEDES.. all is german engineering..

I think PROTON and PERODUA need to consider compete with the Germans high quality cars especially the sports car in their 24 hours Nurburgring championship in Germany or at least compete in World Rally Championship (WRC) in Germany... Germany is the best place to study engineering stuff, Malaysia need to consider to send our brightest student in engineering to Germany! at least student exchange with the Germany University will improve alot of Malaysia automotive industry

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwMImKti9nI

PETRONAS is official premium partner with BMW Germany, I think if Malaysia want to improve Malaysia automotive engineering with the German, it should be not so much difficult. Malaysia must set a clear long term goal to get a full access to the best of german engineering! Jean Todt (F1 FERRARI boss), he is Michelle Yeoh hubby said he want to cooperate with Malaysia.. we can get the best of german and italian engineering technology if we work hard for it.
