More photos of the Kia cee’d facelift released

Kia has added the Peter Schreyer grille to the Kia cee’d facelift, and here we are shown some initial glimpses of both the normal hatchback model and the wagon model. The grille looks a little out of place on the cee’d in my opinion, as it is very angular and works well on angular cars like the Forte and the new Sorento, but not very suitable for a more curvy car like the cee’d. The new bumpers make the new facelifted cee’d about 25mm longer but no changes to wheelbase. Kia says there are also some changes on the interior such as all-red instrumentation lighting as well as new suspension settings. The facelift range will also debut a new variant with automatic start-stop for the 1.6 diesel under the new ECO-dynamics label. The new U2 family 1.6 liter turbodiesel will get a new 6-speed manual. Look after the jump for more photos of the new facelifted cee’d.

Front wagon looks weird, like not flowing smoothly.
Back wagon though looks unique and more pleasant.
Hatchback quite ordinary.

Very European design. One thing that make me not buy Korea made is that the spare parts expensive and cannot find affordable compatible parts from halfcut Japan or Malaysia. Some more, our dealer for parts here also not keen to sell or keep Korean spare parts. If however this trend changes, i would be comfortable to buy…

Elvis,
You obviously don’t drive a Korean car. Who says parts are expensive? I find them cheaper than Japanese spare parts.

You are rite Vee, i dont drive Korean cars. This are feedbacks from my friends who bought Korean cars like Kia and Hunydai. But like i said, i am willing to change my mind about Korean cars once spare parts are easy and cheaper to buy. From where i come from, very expensivelah…me from Sarawak u see. Maybe in Peninsula things are very differrent, you guys are lucky then.

This car looks like it took the rear of a Merc? Maybe those lights remind me of the merc. Next point is the previous cee’d looks better, this one looks as if its going to be a non-looker soon.
August 12, 2009 @ 12:34 am
Well Topper, you are most welcome to buy second hand Korean cars here in Sarawak coz plenty of them for sell with little takers. Like i said, spare parts very expensive, maybe peninsula different case. So before you bash me, better PERSONALLY come here to check it out, peace…

Spectra 5 here in the states is in the process of getting discontinued. They are looking to Bring maybe a C’eed wagon as a Forte Hatch, and modify it heavily to match up to the sporting character of the KIA Forte.
