Ferrari 458 Italia: 11 new high-res images

Maranello-based Ferrari has released eleven brand new high-res images of the recently unveiled Ferrari 458 Italia. Some of the images were taken outdoors, which is good news. The 458 Italia is motivated by an all new 4499 cc V8 with direct injection, that can crank out 562HP (570PS) at 9,000 revs and 540Nm of torque, achieved at 6,000 revs (with over 80% available from 3250 rpm). It sprints to 100 km/h in under 3.4 seconds and delivers a top speed of slightly more than 325 km/h. Mated to a 7 speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine consumes 13.7 liters to deliver 100 kilometers (combined cycle), which is lower than the F430’s figure.
Look after the jump for a high-res image gallery of the 458 Italia.

August 27, 2009 @ 10:37 pm
Probably the ugliest Ferrari ever. Hopefully, it does better on the track.
August 27, 2009 @ 11:29 pm
this car definitely has the most beautiful interior for a ferrari for a very very long time…. futuristic yet exquisite, true supercar fashion whereas the recent f430s, 599s and such look a tad lacking in quality compared to the interiors of lambos, astons and porsches… n it looks quite damn mean as well…..

One thing for sure, the horsepower level of the mid-size Ferrari supercar, went up and up.Highest bhp/liter ever for an NA engine.
This time it’s even more powerful than the Porsche 911 GT2!
I wonder if Japan’s upcoming supercars could match this (Lexus LF-A & Honda NSX)…
August 28, 2009 @ 12:54 pm
the ugliest car from ferrari, even the interior. BUT not the engine
August 28, 2009 @ 2:08 pm

3 exhausts looks overkill, i guess thats the point
August 29, 2009 @ 2:10 am
new engine, new exterior/interior design, new technology..good..i wonder what will happen/looks like when they make a “Scuderia Version” for this type of Ferrari..hehe..how much force the diffuser generate?..300kgm of down-force?..haha..awesome!
August 29, 2009 @ 3:48 pm
It’s running the same engine that powers A1GP. Also shared with the California.
August 29, 2009 @ 5:30 pm
