We’ve already seen how the rear end of the new Lexus concept hatchback looks like, so here’s a few front shot. It definitely shares a family look with the IS sedan, though unlike the IS it is most likely to be front wheel drive and based on the chassis of the Auris. The production version is very likely to be very much toned down.

Look after the jump and you’ll find a photo of the previously unveiled rear end.

    Paul,

The is look is more practical and the fact that they share the same components (eg. headlamps, doors etc.) makes perfect business sense.

That said, I still prefer the concept styling, kinda reminds me of the Veilside aftermarket kits and I must say it looks more decent than those produced by Veilside :)

Let's just wait and see where Lexus take this, for one, they do need a fast hatch to compete in the market but on the other hand, their branding has always been a premium brand, more known for their ride comfort and their reliability compared to performance. A brand conflict or and opportunity? Let's see which path Lexus decision makers takes, I for one hope they keep the more sporty styling and go ahead with producing the concept.

So, you pay Lexus money to buy a Toyota?

Why would I buy this over lets say an Audi S3?
