New E-Class Sedan and Coupe at Carcosa

E-Class Coupe

A reader sent in these shots of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan and E-Class Coupe at a private preview at Carcosa Seri Negara sometime earlier this month. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has already taken up teaser press ads in the newspapers with the tag line “Engineered around you” for the launch.

E-Class Sedan

The base model for the E-Class and undoubtedly probably the most popular one in terms of sales will be the E 200 CGI, which will be powered by Mercedes-Benz’s new turbocharged direct injection engine. We’ve been waiting for this engine a long time, so the the old 1.8 litre Kompressor can be sent into retirement.

Man..for a guy who not fond of Mercs…I rather dig the E coupe looks…long but yet very bold and sleek! Heh heh…I bet some of our politicians are began to be having an itching hands soon…

p/s: the tailights on the coupe is much better than the sedan…IMO

    Finally!!Gorgeous…

Btw, does anyone know when is the facelifted W221 S-class coming to Malaysia? Or is it even launching it in msia?

Mercedes seems to be straying from their design strategy from time to time.

I always thought the w124 evolved gracefully from the w123. But then, the w210 came and left a funny taste in our mouths.

When the W211 came, we all drooled at the curves…now they have gone away from round lights. The w212 coupe looks awesome…cant say the same for the sedan as something seems to be out of place….

the AMG front definitely looks awesome…

from wat i read in the internet, the engine is basically the same from current engine, M271 but wit a few improvement. Merz add direct injection + turbo.

Wonder how much for the price it is.

what's the difference between an e-class and a c-class? could anyone compare it to beemer classes? like the 7 series is comparable to the s-class i.e (straight out answer please, not interested in smart alec answers)

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
  • e class is akin to 5 series, while c class is to 3 series. both are different segments of cars. the e is bigger than the c. the decision to rename the CLK as e coupe was because the clk was built on the e class platform, if i am not wrong.

anyway, i am very sure alot of rich towkay will buy this car withnin the launch's and 2 months after. this is probably the only car in malaysia where if you're seen driving it, you're automatically refer as being "rich" or achievement. the power of branding.

  • I saw these cars at Naza World near the Federal Highway a couple of months back.
    Both the E-coupe and E-Sedan.
However they said the car was not for sale.
It was for one of their bosses presumably

I so wanted the white E-Coupe AMG that they have
    Freaking awesome looking!!
too bad it's not for sale..
Not sure if it's still there thou..

  • What the…come on….you guys gotta be joking. The car still look ugly. Please change styling designer maa. Still uncomparable with bimmer. A bit orientalist I might say. Merc has been my top range in terms of comfort and engines but in terms of exterior design..still need that umph in order to fight with Audi and BMW. If only I could test drive this new engine, I may write some comment about it…

Merc always manages to look indistinctly like a merc, even all these years

i tot the arc (curved surface) over the rear wheel of the coupe wont work

but in these pics, it looks just fine, the rear looks awesome, bet it looks even better in the flesh

Recently saw this new E350 coupe AMG in Kuching with Brunei plate. Black colour and really striking. I stood and watched for 10 minutes with my mouth wide opened. The fierce looking exhaust is something to behold.

The new E have been making its appearance on the latest Amazing Race as the designated car.

Are those LED DRLs on the bumper? Looks sweet. Mounted too low to be noticed though.

I was privileged to ride on one for two days when I was in Amsterdam last month. I must say the diesel variant was superb on the road. Up close, the rear is too much Camry for me. But I see this being a hot-seller anyway. It is a good, good car.
