Renault Megane R26

The winner of the Autocar ASEAN Car of the Year Awards in the performance car category (out of a total of 4 finalists) is the Renault Megane R26, the hardcore 230 horsepower turbocharged version of the ‘common’ Megane hatch. 0 to 100km/h takes 6.5 seconds in this pocket rocket.

The award is a good parting gift for the car, considering that you won’t be able to buy it in Malaysia brand-new any longer. You’ll have to look out for one second hand. TC Eurocars only brought in a limited amount of units and we’ll now have to look forward to the all-new Megane Renault Sport.

The new Megane Renault Sport that has just been unveiled will do the century sprint faster in 6.1 seconds, and its 4-pot turbo motor now makes 250 horses!
