2009 LA Show: ‘Final edition’ of the VW New Beetle

vw-beetle-final-edition

Do you realise that the New Beetle has been with us for over 10 years? No one really pays attention to the cute bugs anymore these days as the reborn icon’s ‘in’ car status have long since passed, but if you want one for collection, this is your FINAL chance – Volkswagen has released the Final Edition of the New Beetle, limited to 1,500 units each for the coupe and convertible.

The Final Edition is only available with a 150bhp 2.5-litre five-pot with a six-speed Tiptronic. To spot one, look out for the pastel Aquarius Blue paint with a black roof for the hardtop, and two-tone Aquarius Blue/Campanella White paint and a white top for the convertible. Special badging is found on the front quarter panel and on the steering wheel. In the US, the Final Edition is priced from $20,000 to $27,000 for the al-fresco version.

the current beetle in msia market, the one wit a 2.0L FSI, really flies man, considering its weight of 1.8 tonnes! the engine is smooth, but not the ride. the ride is hell like a bone shaker
