Aston Martin Rapide price announced – it costs two Porsche Panameras!

aston rapide

Gearing up for the big launch in the first quarter of 2010, Aston Martin has announced the UK price of its Rapide. The firm’s “first four-door sports car” and also the first Aston Martin not to be made-in-England – it’s hand-built at Magna Steyr’s Graz, Austria plant – will start from £139,950 in the UK.

What can that sum buy you? Well, a V8 Panamera S is listed at £72,266 so technically you can have two of Porsche’s four doors for the price of one Rapide with a few options added (a range topping Panamera Turbo costs £95,298).

The Aston’s list price includes a bespoke Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System, among other kit. It is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 with 470bhp.

The car is currently going through final engineering and testing. Order books are open for the 2000 or so Rapides that will be made per year, so if you fancy one put your name down at Aston Martin Lagonda (S.E.A.) Pte Ltd, official dealer for Malaysia and Singapore.

slightly lower at Fulham 400-2 mil.

If u earn 5000GBP a month, would you buy this car? (Dollar to dollar comparison, I.e RM5k a month buy a RM145k car)

I'm not debating wether or not THAT car atTHAT price is expensive or otherwise. But since Knsington was made to sound like like you typical neighbourhood in Jinjang K.L. and the UK is a nation of pro soccer players and rich buggers- I duduk kat Westbourne Grove je dulu…rumah kedai, dekat dgn Khan's Tandoori…..org lain semua duduk Kensington…….

hahaha.. nicely said shooter. u have the experience living in UK. I actually can imagine living in low sq-ft house over there for 2-3 years. :p But some of our readers experience "wiki"ing the UK. You vs Them. It's funny mate.

For me, the Rapide price is high yet justifies the value of it. BTW, i'm sure most of us over here in KL already experienced in a Rapid before. RapidKL that is. cheers!

Well, although the car tax is not as crazy in Malaysia, you have to consider that the footballers have to pay 50% tax for their earnings. But saying that, they still have plenty to play with though.

That is how the UK government get they money

    The price of exclusivity.

Want to join the club? spend.

Besides, supercars are supposed to cost that much. Why are people complaining they are expensive, obviously then you are not the targeted demographic.

You don't look for "cheap" when you are shopping for a supercar….do you?

  • There is no such thing as a car that is too expensive. The key is to make a car that people want. There is always someone with enough money to buy it. The Aston Martin is one of the most popular dream cars ever made.

There is a reason there are so many die-cast model and plastic model car kits made of the Aston Martin. People fantasize of owning one.
