Porsche Panamera V6 variant finally here!

Porsche Panamera V6 variant finally here!

Porsche has finally released the “baseline” model of the Panamera – the Panamera and the Panamera 4. Up until now the Panamera has only been available with normally aspirated or turbocharged versions of its V8 engine.

The new Panamera variant is powered by a 3.6 litre V6 engine with direct fuel injection, producing 300 horsepower and a very impressive 400Nm of torque. That’s about 111Nm per litre of displacement, while a lot of other engines barely touch 100Nm per litre. Normally you only get 400Nm from well-tuned 4.0 litre engines.

Porsche Panamera V6 variant finally here!

The V6 engine will be mated to Porsche’s PDK gearbox and will also include Auto Start/Stop, allowing 30.4mpg for the Panamera and 29.4mpg for the four wheel drive Panamera 4. Both models are EU5 emissions compliant.

The introduction of this new V6-engined Panamera and Panamera 4 in Malaysia should lower the cost bar for entering the realm of Panamera ownership, and the 3.6 litre engine will enjoy significantly lower road tax too.

    Huh, no 6-speed manual transmission?

Btw, such torque can be achieved thru increasing the cyclinders of the engine. If say 4 cyclinder then it's really impossible (unless you add turbo).

a good alternative to the Merc-Benz CLS 350……. more or less same for the road-tax….. the name Porsche and its dynamics will be the main reason to buy one… over the much better looking Merc-Benz….. ;) But just dont forget the Jaguar XF 3.0 as well…… haaaa… temptation……

I saw a Panamera Turbo on the road in KL recently. Its quite huge, dwarfing many other cars on the road. Its unique design allows it to stand out from all other luxury executive car.

The new V6 should make this car a common sight in KL if priced right.

It wouldn't be a Porsche if it wasn't ugly :) Looks aside it's a fabulous piece of machinery. Interior is exquisite. I've sat in it.

All these boutique brand Porsches ,Lotus or Maseratis & the like shd keep to their sport car concept rather than moving into the sedan domain. In most cases the design turn out to be fricky ,ugly & distorted. Being fast & powerful cars, just wondering what kind of passengers who are stupid enough to tag along in the back seats and watch in despair the entics of the showy & proud driver. I don't think their in-laws wld be impressed either . My 2 sens opinion ..loh..

The Maserati stands out, so does Bentley, and Rapide and this Panamera, but not Merc or BMW. Not even Jag. For the same price as an S-Class, I'll take Panamera. Wouldn't you?

yes, maybe u r rite but sometimes u need to look in different way. That is a dream car and 'a dream' is something that are really subjective to describe by every people.

soccer for example…. we can say the whole team are crazy, satu bola rebut ramai-ramai… but who love soccer and understand the meaning of sport, they know why satu bola rebut ramai-ramai.
