Paul Tan on the Automotive Industry
Honda has developed a variant of the Honda Wave 110i equipped with a CV-Matic automatic transmission called the Wave 110i AT. Instead of the regular step-through transmission, you get a belt-based CVT so you don’t have to shift through the gears yourself. The normal Wave 110i with PGM-FI costs upwards of 34,000 Thai Baht, but for the Wave 110i AT with the CV-Matic you have to top up and pay a starting upwards of 44,900 Thai Baht.

Yeah CV-matic normally found on scooters but this isn't a scooter body.

auto just like at scooter more maintenance than normal bike..
Timing belt based automatic engines are the cause of high maintenance on scooters. Can't we have chain based autommatic engines?
Since Honda Japan have substantial % shares in Boon Siew….any news of them bringing maxi scooter to Msia?..lots of ppl will like to commute to KL using those

I'm sure the dealer will mark up the price very2 high…
If i am not wrong, Yamaha Nouvo is also a CVT automatic engine….Its a 135 l engine motorbike for new version. But i only managed to tried the old version of Yamaha Nouvo, if i am not wrong, its 115 l engine. I also heard that in Thailand, there's many modified Nouvo over there……It can be customized till very fast. I still prefer Nouvos.
CV in motorcycles =Extra big headache after a few years.

we can found CV-matic on non scooter body and that was Yamaha Nouvo
Wow. Base model also fuel injected. I bought a 250cc bike costing more than 20k and they give me carburetor. When will the bastardisation of Malaysian stop.
I think and have always thought Yamaha Nouvo is a scooter. Somehow never came accross my mind to think otherwise. You don't need a second glance to call Nouvo a scooter.
It may just look less 'scooter-like' because of the slightly bigger wheels and it doesn't have the floor thingiey to put your feet on.
Same with Naza GTR. You can say both Nouvo and GTR are scooters with slightly bigger wheels with side-mounted foot pedals.
Every other parts and view of the bikes make them look so scooters.
most scooter are CVT… to be specific dry belt CVT…

EEeee…? I still have my NOUVO 115 ooo…still works fine paa….never gave me problems…only recently acquired sports rims for it…STill faithfull getting me to places maaa….
Can't do a wheelie on CV transmission. Ever tried pre-loading the tranny on an Audi A4 or Honda Jazz at the traffic lights? You need to meet the max torque before releasing the clutch. So yeah, not good for wheelies.
I had two wheels before four. It was a blue C70. It gave me freedom like I never had before. So I'll never look down on kapcais.
automatic is not good enough…. can honda make it EV motorcycle? then we all get peace of mind can sleep well at night.

when you are talking in thai market, many motorcycles over there have cvt/chain variant, but its a first to see honda wave variant in cvt, or auto transmission.
but we can safe to say its target to bring down yamaha market share in cvt market, they have controlling it for years in thailand.

My 3 years old Yamaha LC135 has no side mirror problem.
But my 1 year old Proton Persona has a lot of problems.
Hahaha.
yaya, me too. my 5 yrs old honda wave still works fine like out of showroom b ut my 2 yrs old saga lmst give me so much headache

Since you brought up the subject of orang miskin, let me ask you, how many crimes are recorded using kapcais. Nearly all snatch thieves use kapcais!
So who lives in these kampungs? Don't you think that our Government NEP is there to help you orang kampungs? How come after more than 40 years you orang kampung have not seize the opportunity of the NEP?

How come NEP got into this? Should let racist comment out from this topic. Motorcycles are not used by one race only ok.
Sure i don't like mat rempit but they're equally bad manners car drivers out there that sucks. Driving cars doesn't mean you can do whatever you want on the road and label all us motorcycles users as bad.
Kapcais will not disappear from msian roads until we have a more efficient public transportation system.. live with it..
Btw, looking at more expensive fuel prices in near future, i think i'll just trade in my still-new civic for this.. still honda mah.. keke

cuba ko muhasabah diri sikit.. aku ada kereta ngan motor. bila aku bawak motor aku dpt rasa mcm mana perasaan org bwk motor. tapi org mcm ko ni aku rasa bawak motor pun tak reti. kalau orang tua bawak kapcai nak pegi sembahyang pun ko mesti anggap dia peragut kan?. sikap & mentaliti kau ni akan jadi ikutan kepada anak2 kau iaitu pentingkan diri sendiri tanpa memikirkan perasaan orang lain. maka lahirlah bangsa2 pemandu kurang ajar.
statistik penunggang motor mati memang la paling tinggi. puncanya?. jarang ada yang mati terbabas & berlanggar. paling banyak mati dilanggar.
Betul tu broo..Kalau semua kenderaan kita berpengalaman bawak atas jalan raya, Bas,Lorry,Bulldozer,Jeep,Van,Treler.. Lagilah kita lebih memahami situasi kenderaan lain di atas Jalan Raya..
Ini membuatkan kita lebih berhati-hati dan lebih cekap berada di atas jalanraya.. Walaupun semasa aku memandu kereta BMW E46 328i kesayanganku[ni standard kereta sport taw..] , aku still memahami pengguna jalanraya yang lain especially motorsikal sebab aku pun riding gaks Motorsikal.. Masuk simpang pun still aku kasi signal..
Ini tidak, pakai kereta je nak tunjuk lagaks ntah2 kereta Myvi hehehe sori yerr pemilik2 Myvi yang lain… lupa keselamatan orang lain.. Aku cukup marah gilerr ni sebab Minggu lepas aku berjaya Sondol Bumper Proton Saga kepunyaan Cina tua yang tak reti nak kasi signal sebelum masuk simpang.. Abih calar sikit Bike 135lc akuh..
