Practicality:
I drive alone 50% of the time so this 1.5 was OK and make sense. Full pump is less than 70 usually and I can go 500+ KM before next fuel. My wife has a softer driving style and she can squeeze extra 50 KM out of the fuel…

40% with my family of four…and the occasional 5 – 10% wtih grandparents\friends around when we go for church or weekend’s makan by the warung trips.

Power: How much do you need?
I went to genting with four and it was very good. Torque Boost Resonator does a real good job only drawback, the engine is a little noisy when the booster kicks in. I averaged 60KM/Hr going up.

On the straight road, I don’t like to drive fast especially on the highway with the kids but my wife occasionally alerts me when I hit past 120km/hr…not because I want to speed, but the handling is so smooth you don’t realised you’re going that fast…So, again…how much power do you really need???

Other things I didn’t like: Yes for the price I paid, its a little plasticky, but its hard to make everyone happy and everything perfect. Overall, we LOVE our Honda freed. Its the best thing since slice bread:-) Peace

be4 this I drove a iswara auto 1.5, it’s like a fuel-drinking monster!
rm80 full tank (ron95), but only drive for 220km in town!!
(dare not bring to high-way yet)..

But I am annoyed that I had to go through a grey imported and pay a premium for my StepWGN but the alternatives are poor – yes I test drove them all.
- Stream is too small no luggage space.
- Odyssey is crazy price and not much luggage space and looks like a hurse.
- Alphard/Estima crazy price unless you buy a recon – but very nice.
- Nissan two models (can’t remeber the names) very cheap finish and drove like a trucks. Rear drum breaks also were a put off.
- Innova drives like a truck.

The StepWGN drives like a car. Its built on top of a Civic platform and uses the same engine as the Civic type R (I think maybe someone can correct me on that). Anyway its a pleasure to drive.

In my opinion I think Honda Malaysia missed an opportunity not brining in the StepWGN directly. They could offer a decent price point for those who are currently buying recon Estima’s.

Check with a collegue who took hers a few days back. Same comment as me, plus she mentioned that the car struggle when going uphill. That can be a problem.

i have been driving freed since last week. what amaze me is the inside.the spacious and middle path allows my family freely navigate within the car itself.as for the sliding door,it is ok only.got or not doesnt matter.

i love the comfortable driving of it where u cant find at sedan. especially traffic jam, my kids can walk around and play compare the sedan.they are pretty stuck and couldnt move around.

i love the aircon as powerful.compare vios, the rear passenger always complain my aircon lousy.with freed, it does not have this issue even they sit at 3rd row…..

i agree with u about the rear.however,japanese car designer sure brainstorm and redesign hundred or even thousands times before they finalized the rear design.watever reason it is,surely it is good…

finally..i love the multi meter that always allow me to check my own driving style…where leads to better petrol consumption

next week im going to do my 1000km service…:O)

if u cant afford alphard then u can have this similar techonolgy..

i think it is acceptable for 1.5 vtec small mpv…agreed?

p/s : no matter it assemble from thai or indon, its still honda brand ok..

i drove Freed for 2 days already.
summarize:-

1)superb and amazing.i love the comfortable and spacious driver seat. my 2 kids enjoy it.my wife said it is very comfortable.
i compare with my vios (new model).we felt like sardin and it is very compress feeling.but with Freed,u felt very cosy and a lot of space.
i compare alza, grand livina and rush.they unable to compete Freed over the spacious and comforable feeling.i can go to my back without open my door.i use the middle path.

Excellent for its space 10/10

2)Speed/Accelerate
At first,i worry about 1.5 might not be powerful.I am wrong.It carry me and entire family like my toyota vios. In fact, it is more quiet and allow me to drive in relax.Honda absorber and corner is better than my Vios…when go up hill..it has no problem..
First time I drive honda car.If next time I want to upgrade/buy another car..i choose Honda rather than Toyota…..

3)Added bonus is always let me check whether i drive recklessly or not.there is a meter that tell me if i drive recklessly or fast, my petrol going waste more…it also have multi display information that tell me how many km i can go before my entire car petrol used up…my average petrol consumption…and lastly…. temperature outside of that car

4)the plastic side actually is good for family.as kids like to mess up things…if rain,plastic can be easily wipe off.now i know why they choose plastic…it is easy to be replace and afforable..

Still many good things i wan to praise for this car but to those who plan buy Freed..go for it….my own opinion.. as family man.. compare alza,grand livina,rush…. freed wins them all… of course… to win them..there is a price for it..which is more expensive than them….go for it if ur from middle and high income ppl.. those low income ppl should not go for it… it is not wise (thay why so many ppl unhappy with honda price)
