Volkswagen Polo Sedan – alternative rear lamp design

Click for enlarged image

This is just something for fun – I didn’t quite like the rear end treatment that Volkswagen gave the new Polo Sedan so I gave Theophilus Chin a buzz to see if he could chop it to look better. Here’s what he managed to come up with. Looks better doesn’t it? You can click this link to view an animated gif of the real Polo Sedan’s rear end transforming into this Photoshopped version.

I think one of the best looking Volkswagens with a boot out there (well, not exactly on the roads) so far is the Volkswagen New Compact Coupe Concept, which was unveiled at Detroit and was supposed to preview the upcoming Jetta. Very nice Audi-like tail lamps!

Agreed, the original one looks like from Honda City.

Theo should work for a design house – Pininfarina / giugario….

Its not better… i like the original ‘POLO’ rear lamps for this version. since this looks unbalanced.. the rear should be bigger than the front in such small car.. .

Dunno why, I always feel that a proper car should have a butt, it simply sexier. Like we add a butt to Gen2 and make it a best seller.

Myvi + Butt anyone? Not Alza, I mean a sharp butt, not fat @s…

  • I think these lights looks really good, and amazingly they fit in with how VW are starting to style the rear lights on their cars (since 2010). Would make a great facelift to the original version, halfway through its lifecycle. Can see this version replacing the original version in say 2012 or 2013 before an all new Polo sedan arrives a few yrs later. Great work – Are you sure you don’t work for VW??!

oh, and the aerial looks abit old fashioned…..now all VW’s have those little molded aerials that sit on the roof (just above the rear windscreen)
