The new Thai factory, which employs 3,000 people, will make 150,000 units of the Mitsubishi Concept Global Small annually, and it will be sold in Thailand at a starting price of about 400,000 Thai baht. The factory will handle pressing, welding, painting and assembly of the car.

Look after the jump for two previously released sketches of the Mitsubishi Concept Global Small, including a rear three-quarter sketch.

Paul, any idea on its platform and chassis? driven Nissan Global Small Car, the March, only suitable to drive in the city and lack refinement. hopefully Mitsu will develop this tiny one better.

To be honest, it kinda looks like the Peugeot SR1 at the front. I won’t be surprised if PSA Peugeot Citroen sells a version.

PAS can offer this as a Peugeot, or even Citroen in China.

The thing about that is, PSA Peugeot Citroen already have a small car platform with Toyota with the Aigo/107/C1 which in itself is a marvel in packaging and costing. The C1 is stupid popular in France…I see them all over the place.

The thing about the French is, they are very patrotic, a car not built in france will not be popular with the frenchies.

The only place i could see them slotting this in is a C2 model between the smaller C1 and C3…how Peugeot slots it in would be interesting.

it’s part of proton and mitsu understanding.

that right, proton cannot design better than mitsu.. actually i see in documentray about 25 years proton month ago in rtm and saw one person in proton rnd design a car using tablet touch screen and the design looks termendous but i wonder why they not produce design car like that… very shameful of you proton. come on proton, give a chance for that designer..

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
      • they didn’t make such cars maybe bcoz at that time those awesome design is hard to produce in real life or maybe the design wasn’t user-friendly enough.

be patient, in 2012-13 those new Proton concept cars will enter production…those designs are awesome duuude. (except the Kasturi and Jebat lol they looked like rice cars)

The factory will handle pressing, welding, painting and assembly of the car.

    Proton manufactures the car?

Savvy was a top 10 car in Thailand in 2008. Other cars include Jaguar XF, the BMW 320d, the Volvo S80 3.2, the MINI Cooper S Clubman, the Honda City, the Honda Jazz, the Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Subaru Impreza STI.

    It was reported: http://www.carsguide.com.au/site/news-and-reviews/car-news/proton_goes_back_to_mitsubishi

Proton is likely to do the work for a shared city car, which would become the replacement for its current Savvy, with Mitsubishi lining up a replacement for the Waja which could be based on its new Lancer.

Is this the shared city car, a likely replacement for current Savvy? We already saw the Waja replacement from Mitsubishi.

as usual. when mitsu comes with design, some will say 1 day become proton, so in this case some will say it;s savvy, no one knows, maybe it is, but if it really does, then wake up, why P can’t get it right n M got it right?
