    What VGM need is a body that regulate, train & monitor its dealers in term of sales & technical. Otherwise, it is just a matter of expansion without value add & be different from others.

      VGM is owned by VAG Germany itself, and they do regulate, train and monitor all the dealers in terms of sales and technicals.

      the problems are – not many malaysians are familiar with VW cars over the past 10 years, let alone its technical aspects.

      believe me, you ask them what is FSI also they do not know. the best answer perhaps is they know it is direct injection but not the actual term (Fuel Stratified Injection)

      they may not even know how VW’s famous DSG works.

      it may sound pathetic, but this is malaysia, and hard to blame anyone since VW only re-appear to our market about 5yrs back.

      it is not so easy for VW to slash the price just like that.

      i mean, they are doing a business and their product is a good one, no doubt there.

      VGM started operations without any history and the last time an official VW car was sold was like 2-3 decades back. based on market condition and their own research, the price seems like the best they can offer while maintaining subtle in business.

      what i do know though.. is Golf GTI and Golf TSI is less than 50K when it comes to Malaysia (without taxes/duties or profit margin) and the difference is less than 5K apart.

      i believe their offering is fair for its price.

      VW Golft GTI . 2.0 T 200bhp++ 6 speed DSG = 220K

      Honda City Type R 2.0 NA 200bhp++ 6 speed manual = 200K

      VW Golf TSI with 150bhp, 7 speed DSG = 155K <– ppl buy for tech

      Toyota Camry 2.0 with 150bhp, 4 speed AT = 150K <– ppl buy for space and image

    Recently send my new golf 1.4 tsi for 1st service and guess what ….it’s the same 3s service centre mentality everywhere they load the bill with unnecessary things like windscreen liquid and washer charging you exorbitant prices and labour charges to change oil and filter is double what you pay outside.

    VW Malaysia should look into this matter seriously and these little details will affect consumers satisfaction.
