Just for fun, here’s some side by side images showing you the differences between the new 2011 Perodua Myvi and the 2010 Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Boon. You can see the different route that the Japanese companies and their Malaysian counterpart took with the styling of their second generation products. Look after the jump for more pix.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
hahaha….another best selling…..P! salesman sure be disappointed…..
overall i gotta say new myvi wins. but still a boring car.
buy satria neo cps, sure give you surprises, positively and negatively
satria neo sure nice car.. but at Malaysia , for fuel consumption Myvi win satria neo
Passo is built with ‘soccer moms’ in mind, so the design is curvier and more feminine, while MyVi in Malaysia need to cater for both gender and wider usage demography – feminine and cute to attract female drivers while still having some bits of ‘garang’ appearance to make male drivers feel the sense of belonging.
I kinda like the interior of Passo, maybe its the bright color of the materials or clearly the clever use of photography lightings but it creates a relaxing zen-like meditation comfort. Note the more useful design of the headrest for the front seats that actually supports the area of the neck better.
Headrest not for supporting neck. Find out why…
has u ever heard of whiplash?
Passo interior looks nicer and more airy. The downside for Passo is only the gear lever…
i am a guy, i don’t mind the passo
when u look at the centre console of the ‘new’ myvi, u can see a face with a mustache grinning at u…lol…
That’s we know as Pokemon face.
my personal view…
FRONT:
kudos to perodua designers for the myvi’s sportier looking headlights, grill, and bonnet compared to the passo. however, they seem to have tried too hard with the front bumper that it looks too crowded especially the 2-piece combination where the slap-on lower bumper looks like it comes from Brothers or ah beng shop. why didn’t they make a 1-piece bumper like the previous myvi?
INTERIOR:
this new myvi dashboard reminds me of alza and the new steering wheel design looks like they’re going backward in time! the passo and old myvi steering wheels look better. and somehow i find the passo’s dashboard more interesting especially the flat top where you can use to put stuff on when not driving. also the passo internal door panel and handle are so much cooler than this new myvi’s. nonetheless, myvi’s seat looks a bit comfier.
REAR:
hey perodua recycles the first gen myvi rear reflector into this new myvi! cheap! perhaps to recover the cost of redesigning the headlights and dashboard. somehow, i find the passo rear looks better than this new myvi. no comment on the tail lights but I think the passo rear bumper looks much better due to their bigger size and plate number location.
however, at the end of the day this car being a ‘myvi’ and malaysians being malaysians, it will continue to be the best seller again and again…
Cleary New MYVI look better on the front design, equally good at the real design despite CRV look alike, Interior wise MYVI look marginally better & meaty against Passo simplicity look.
Bravo ! Perodua U make us Malaysian Proud, Job well done.
buat jer bagi sama nanti korang convert gak jd passo la…letih mato den tgk
passo is more spacious
the design l0ok perfect than old myvi…..
ahhahahha macam tukar lampu depan, bumper dpn blakang, side mirror, rim dengan interior… terus jadik model baru… hahahhaha mcam ini, kedai ahbeng pon boleh buat kete model baru ni..
cakap senang la bro…cube buat…nie la typical malaysian….cakap pung pang…
orang malaysia duk sibuk mengomel je bila proton dengan perodua keluar kete baru, orang luar jugak yg wat duit..bukan proton dengan perodua je wat keje camni redesign, banyak lagi syarikat gergasi dunia melakukan perkara yg sama. Orang Malaysia sikit punya sombong ..
aku sajes ko gi tukar pintu myvi baru ni dengan yg lama, try leh masuk ke tak leh… haha. shape pun dah lain… gi la bro… komen tah pape..
Myvi has sharper look. I’ll give a thumbs of to P2 if compare the exterior with Passo. I guess Passo has K3VE2 vs Myvi K3VE?
New Myvi 1.3 maybe can defeat Proton Saga 1.3, but not Proton Saga 1.6L. Increasing sales of New Myvi 1.5 next year will decrease sales of Perodua Alza, means it killing Perodua Alza’s sales. Wonder New Myvi 1.5 can defeat Proton Persona Elegence 1.6…hehehe..can’t wait what will happen to Perodua after Proton Emas and Proton Tuah are launch..
What can we conclude?
Perodua is a car restyler.
Spot on, Bro!
Agree too much..Perodua is also a car downgrader and love to jack up price
Not as the same on the outside, but all 100% same on the inside.
Instrument panel, bumper, doors, panels, seats, engine mounting, door trims, head lining, windscreen, power window, under body… Myvi Passo can switch anytime…
I gotta say The new Myvi interior tops all of the cars shown in this post, followed by the old myvi, and last would be the passo… Exterior wise, The old myvi tops all, followed by passo and then the new myvi…
in term of quality, ORI Passo better…how is the price gonna be for ORI Passo if there is no NAP in Malaysia??
Have anyone try to drive ORI Toyota Passo/ Daihatsu Boon?? You might surprise with the quality of the car which can be categorized as cheap car in Japan..
agree with you, driven the car in japan, it really sucks dude. small skinny tires. i think p2 made up a good job here.
what atan means is if the ORI car is suck what else the rebadging one. just having big tires doesn’t makes rebadging model better than ORI.
Is it really a rebadging? are you stupid to make a car which not improved? If inspira….that is REBADGING…
i prefer passo dashboard than new myvi, but for other parts, i like the new myvi one
price??
lagi best myvi lama. kompenan dan mutu pembuatn lagi berqualiti.
lagi best myvi lama qualiti produc lagi berqualiti.

why dont you compare DESIGN the closest model of passo and myvi?
im not asking you to compare the quality (muahaha..surely like heaven and earth)
What is the different between k3ve and k3ve2… different horsepower is not a convenience answer… TQ…
