Nissan Teana now available with touch screen full colour GPS navigation screen and aerokit

Nissan Teana now available with touch screen full colour GPS navigation screen and aerokit

In our mega D-segment sedan test drive review that included the Nissan Teana, we couldn’t help but feel that the large LCD screen above the climate control buttons was kinda wasted on a low resolution monochrome screen with large calculator-like fonts.

Malaysian Nissan distributor has a fix for that – it’s now offering the 2.0 litre and 2.5 litre Nissan Teana with the option of a 7″ touch screen Multimedia Navigation System that has SpeedNavi GPS navigation. The system also includes a wide angle reverse camera to help you maneuver your Teana in tight spots. Other features include a Bluetooth hands-free system, music and movie playback from an SD card slot or USB port, and iPod connection support.

The steering wheel audio control function will only work with the existing audio system though, as they aren’t configured to work with the new Multimedia Navigation System.

There’s also a new aerokit for Teana owners who want their car to look a little different. It’s kinda subtle even on light colors such as the image above, so it should be even more subtle on a dark car.

You’ll get both the Multimedia Navigation System and the aerokit for free if you buy a Teana from now until 30th September 2011. You’ll also get a free maintenance package for 2 years or 40,000km, whichever comes first. Existing Teana owners can retrofit the Multimedia Navigation system for RM2,500 and the aerokit for RM3,000.

Look after the jump for a small gallery of the MNS and aerokit.

Because…..if Korean cars offer same spec, warranty, free maintenance as the Japanese brand, how many people will buy their cars? They have to offer extra features, attractive packages just to stay competitive as the japs. Funny how I saw those Korean car fans criticizing Japanese brand as behind the Koreans. Obviously they didn’t know Japanese cars already have all those features as those Korean brands here. It’s because of pricing that malaysians were not offered those features here. Cars like Mazda already using 6 speed in some of their cars more than 5 years ago in japan and yet some ppl are laughing at the japs as being lack behind the Koreans. At the end of the day, there is no denying that the japs are still way ahead of the Koreans who still need to rely on European and even japanese assistance.

Ya nice one, I think it’s called SOUR GRAPE MENTALITY LOL :)…!!!!!

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
      • its because JAPANESE brands r GREEDY.. their profit margin is high because mentality is such that no matter what japenese cars r better. N to get that sweeeeettt profit they sell at the same price range yet low spec.

Go n c your neighbouring countries like indonesia or thailand.. look at their spec??
Tan Chong is one crap company..
STill selling nissan C22 vanette? n how many small time traders r dying because the safetly spec is hopless? (1985 technology)

where r the new NV200? undercutting malaysians like crazy. u can c loads of it in spore roads. n the sentra was sold for like 10 years. before changed? n it was ok? just because its japanese?

its because our old brains still think jap is sooo good.

u sell a crap Avanza at 80k also people buy becvause its a TOYOTA. when its just basic low spec low quality car done for third world countries. have u ever seen those sold in the UK? so what kind of jap cars we r getting?
only camry n altis we can say gud cars…but even how much stuff they take out to sell with a huge margin?

And please dont talk bout tax here…i wonder y a Mitsu ASX can start at 136,000..even though from JAPAN..imported…
YET honda CRV is selling for 150k…Made in thailand?

so how much Honda is earning? n even more impressing…every car from them needs 5000km service…

in the 70s… japs were bad…now they r KING…as some of people here think..soon in no time…KOREANS will be king. they r already there!

i hope moderator doesnt delete this….

You are too naive about Tan Chong issues. Did you know TC is the only non bumi survivor here?easy for you to say bring these and that models in. Given a chance you think TC are not interested to bring in latest models? Think economic viability! Japanese brands are not greedy, if u want to mention this then it’s the local distributors maybe..but I will not use that word. It’s called market strategy. They are businessmen and their job is to maximize profit. It’s a supply and demand and don’t expect them to do charity here. It’s unfortunate we Malaysian have to pay rocket price for cars because of our high taxes. Japanese working culture are different from the Koreans. Koreans are now into this ‘paali-paali’ culture. Means work faster. Japanese are much more meticulous and they don’t roll out any product until they are satisfied with it. End of the day? The japs earned the reputation of reliable car. Koreans? Rusted rear boot and leaking gear box on the 3 months old Sonata.

          • your comment is simply based on one car. one defect?

BUT Which manufacturer dont have problems? so if everything is so perfect by them y is HONDA doing recalls? i thought its not rushed?

YEAH end of the day it is business i agree. BUT Y THEY can do that?
BECAUSE we consumers allow them to do that. WE GIVE THEM the confidence they can reap any kind of profit. be it from a THIRD world country car to a luxo barge by them, Its because people like you that we r getting ripped off.

Its because people like you who think JAPS r God.

HOnestly wallstreet im not dumb. yeah maybe i didnt do Wallstreet businesses n dont even know bout profit. like u said as long as we have people who pray to Japs n create the demand we will always have over priced Japs CRAPS.

AND as i said do tell me Y is the CRV so ex even tough its made in thailand? compared to the ASX made in japan.

talking bout TC,,,they have been greedy all along… all along riding in their success of sunnys n sentras n junk C22s… now they cant compete because business plan is out. SO what u r the only non BUMI? so? that means u must be bad? u cant excel? n yet..wanna compete with market leader Toyota n honda yet offer 2 years. y not start the revolution with a 5 year warranty? Again greedy. Its that simple.

Honda is greatly losing service market…thats y they come up with their service at honda dealer campaign… yet come on 5000km service? how much profit u wanna reap from that?

I think u really have very little knowledge in biz world but I would really like to share some knowledge with u. TC the only non bumi survivor and facing all the disadvantages here due to APs. The previous Teana cost Rm230k when they brought in. U think they really want to price it that way? Things are not AS simple as u think. I never like a Honda or a Toyota and will never buy one. Mazda for me is the most appealing one. But local honda and Toyota distributors are businessmen. A Cbu Mazda still can price the same as ckd Honda. So what? Honda can price it that way because they CAN. Their job is maximize profit. And I don’t criticize or jumping mad because so many malaysians still worship them. You cant criticize Honda for this as there are willing buyers and willing sellers. You think Hyundai didn’t want to do what Honda is doing? It’s because they can’t at this moment. They have to gain market share first. Wait till u see them selling like hot cakes and I bet the Koreans are more greedy. I will do exactly the same thing if I m in the position. You think Ferrari actually cost millions? They cost millions because they CAN and I don’t complain and curse them for that ridiculous price just because I can’t afford it.

Agreed… looks like TC just OEM the Navi from China and whack it in with a ugly stick. Even the Aux In is jacked externally. It looks so ugly. Come on TC, you can do better.

searched online for the china made Teana navi system. The steering controls will work with the Teana’s original sound system like the TCAT’s. The screen and radio is still separated units i guess like the Sylphy? But I guess TCAT didn’t thought of additional harnesses for the wires instead they use AUX in. What a simple way. Moreover the usb/sd card plugs are tucked right under the stock HU. They should reroute it to somewhere like the glovebox.

Some of the latest euro cars, depend on make/model, also stripped down and co-engineered with jap, hence jap r&h.

If u talk about 90s, yeah euro cars from those days have personalities….

i don’t think things are so simple. The Nissan navi from Japan might not be supported in Malaysia, hence TC had to do the hard work to find their own navi solution here. Full credit to TC.
