PETRONAS is having a promotion for their PETRONAS Syntium range of lubricants from now until 18 September 2011 (or while stocks last), where you can get different rewards when you purchase PETRONAS Syntium lubricants.

As Harvinder advised in Episode 4 of Travel Safe & Save with PETRONAS Primax 95 Xtra, always use a handsfree kit if you need to receive phone calls while you are driving. This is where this promotion comes handy – you can get a free Bluetooth headset with every purchase of 4L PETRONAS Syntium 5000/3000/1000, available in two colours.

And for your traveling needs, you’ll get to pick from either a knapsack or a traveling bag if you buy a 4L pack of Syntium 800, with both options available in two colours each.

The following are the Syntium oil weights and grades available:

  • Syntium 5000 SM 0W-30
  • Syntium 5000 SM 0W-40
  • Syntium 3000 SM 5W-40
  • Syntium 1000 SM 15W-50
  • Syntium 800 SM 5W-30
  • Syntium 800 SM 10W-40
  • Syntium 800 SL 10W-30

Check out the PETRONAS Syntium website for more information on the promotion.

As a 100% Malaysian oil company, I am really dissapointed on the high pricing of these Syntiums. There are more expensive than other renowned brands like Castrol and Shell.

Petronas Syntium is one of the best motor oil around. This is why their participation in F1 is just so vital. Used to put Magnatec but now Syntium.

Very simple just look look at Proton’s for the pass 25 years we still cannot build our own car!!
Instead they use lancer to rebadge as Inspira!!!
Do u think our Petronas’s lubricant can produce by our own ppl, this lubricant if i not mistaken is rebadge from other country technology also.
        Correct me if i wrong!!!

the lube is blended in melaka. you want facts, take a drive to tangga batu. there’s a huge refinery there with genuine malaysians running the refinery.

plus, these guys have been working together with the F1 team to learn all about fuel and lubricant technology. now they have local expertise who can produce world class products. you want facts, take a drive to bangi, there’s the research center there with genuine malaysians working on the product development.

if you ask me, people should be more supportive of these efforts. if italians can buy our lubes, why not malaysians?

if oil from the same country and produce in the same country only with some expat R & D, it should sell to local at local price……
Petronas can sell elsewhere with higher margin but dont makan own people money!

If buying a proton cost RM200K I might as well buy imported cars! see the logic?

Nowadays latest car not using a higher viscosity such as 15w-50, and their sales of syntium 800 15w-50 drop. thats why petronas scrap it and introduce new viscosity 5w-30 4L where myvi, avanza, rush, alza, saga blm/fl etc can use this motor oil.

there will be new Mach 5 introduce soon, it might change from 20w-50 to 15w-50 or 15-40

But i still wonder why syntium 800 10w-30 3L API is still SL?
