Amongst the various different up! and Beetle models showcased at Volkswagen’s Frankfurt Motor Show stand, this particular car really stands out – the Volkswagen Polo R WRC, which Volkswagen will be entering into the Rally World Championship in 2013.
If you think the Polo GTI’s 180 horses from a small 1.4 litre is crazy, this little pocket rocket boasts a turbocharged 1.6 litre four cylinder engine making 300 horsepower, sent to all four wheels. Now I’m just waiting for a 3-door Polo GTI owner to create a replica – you don’t even need to do the widebody, just the white, silver and blue livery should do!
Look after the jump for more “inspiration”.

Sweet… Love the tidy looks…
wait for my Polo to arrive i’ll create one!
nice…rocket pocket…
damn awesome…
1.6 and 300hp really sound sweet !! Body work is very nice.
really beautiful…
i don’t understand, why you want to put body kit when the drive train itself is not the 300bhp. if no money to buy this model, just sit and keep quiet with your original polo gti. no need to convert. buat malu only
It’s their money la….let them do what they want it
this model not on production… how to buy? papermade?
Its for wrc…so basicly to own this car u need to own the wrc team itself
nah…i think you still dont understand
dia punya kereta dia punya duit dia punya suka la.
Add bodykit for happy, people like me love to covert so i’m so happy!at least i’m not the one who drive the Waja convert to EVO 10 and put the MMC logo on the bonnet!
Some Vios also automatically turn into Lexus with a logo change. :-)
If the Waja-convert-to-EVO-10-and-put-the-MMC-logo-on-the-bonnet make the owner happy, I wonder why do you bother so much about it?

Polo “R” said to be here in 2012 ish
200 BHP + Big 4 pot brakes & Bodykit (not as big as the rally version)
Cheers

look at the homologation requirements for WRC – http://www.rallycars.com/Cars/Homologation.html
“In order for a vehicle to be able to take part in FIA approved races it has to be produced to a minimum number of units by its manufacturer, 5000 for the GroupN class, 2500 for the GroupA class and 200 for the now extinct GroupB. These units have to be similar, in aspect and mechanically, to the ones that will effectively take part in racing i.e. if the racing vehicle has a 4 wheel drive transmission so must also have the homologation base vehicle. ”
so does this mean VW will have to produce and sell the Polo R?!?!?!?!? woohoo.
they already meet the requirement, the rally polo and production polo got same body and engine but different tuning, just like satria neo and satria neo s2000
Droll: your posting has the answer to your own question.. you mentioned GroupN, GroupA, GroupB..
this polo is WRCar class. Manufacturers do not have to build homologation specials like the evo’s and subaru’s who still continue to do so, because they are still very active in the Group N or world production class.
FIA did this to try and encourage more manufacturers to come into the sport, which saw the creation of the 206 WRC pug, the various citreons, the fiesta WRC , etc.. you cannot buy any of these cars in turbo and 4wd form for the road.
For 2011, the WRC cars now are derived from S2000 rules, but use 1.6 ltr turbo engines. likewise, S2000 rules also allow a manufacturer to enter just by using a current mass produced model from their product line-up.. they do not need to build an actual 4wd car, 2.0 litre…etc.
i see. i learn something new today. thank you!
I would not be surprised if it transformed into a robot. Looks very futuristic.
how they make the body so wide and the bumper so gorgeous. Id like to ask them and make it for me. its really NICE and WONDERFULL
do u have a rally team?
I may want to get the Polo GTI for my 67 year old mum, may even do it with the same livery….. God willing it’ll be soon… She’d be the coolest grandma in town… Ha ha ha…
pehhh..bapak cool dowhhh!!
