The new Audi A6 is finally here in Malaysia, with the sole unit offered right now being the top of the range Audi A6 3.0 TFSI quattro. Priced at RM515,000, it significantly undercuts the similiarly engined 535i by a huge margin and adds the extra traction of the Audi quattro all-wheel drive system.
This sexy beast’s 3.0 litre TFSI V6 engine puts out 300 hp between 5,250-6,500 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 2,900 rpm to 4,500 rpm. This is the same motor found in the flagship Audi A8L 3.0 TFSI. You might wonder why peak torque kicks in a little higher than normal compared to other TFSI engines – this is likely because Audi has elected to use a supercharger on this V6 engine instead of a turbo. The V6 engine also includes variable inlet camshaft timing and petrol direct injection.
From the crank, power travels to a 7-speed S-tronic twin clutch transmission, and finally to the quattro all-wheel drive system which sends power to all four wheels via a crown gear centre diffferential. The A6’s quattro also has torque vectoring.
A total of twelve colours are availalbe – Ibis White, Brilliant Black, Aviator Blue, Dakota Gray, Ice Silver, Havana Black, Moonlight Blue, Oolong Gray, Quartz Gray, Glacier White, Phantom Black and Garnet Red. The latter two colours are pearl effect colours which command an additional price premium of RM5,000.
Other than the pearl effect paint, the top of the range Malaysian spec 3.0 TFSI can still be specced up if your budget allows it – you can add LED headlamps for RM13,000, a Bang & Olufsen sound system for RM28,000, or a heads up display for RM6,000. For a sportier appeareance, RM30,000 gets you an S-line exterior package which adds sportier front and rear bumpers with a contrasting grey finish for the front lip and rear diffuser.
If you were wondering where the more affordable models are – Audi says they will be bringing the 2.0 TFSI to complement this model soon, so we’ll bring you more news on that when it is available. The normally aspirated 2.8 litre V6 will not be available for now. Look after the jump for a huge photo gallery of the new Audi A6.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Target for this babe in 3 yrs time.
almost end of the life cycle if this car..too late already… became 2nd hand car
In 3 years time this car is nearing the half-life cycle with the obligatory facelift. Continental cars has a 7-year span for one generation.
good luck & may your dream come true
Totally second You!
Tested Driven recently. A big worth buying, Mercedes E300 W212 is no way matching this A6 anytime. Comfortable yet you can drive KL to Penang for just 2 hours, safe and sound traveling.
But doubt it would sell as well as a Mercedes or BMW. Don’t forget, in the eyes of the typical Malaysian Audi doesn’t have the cachet that BMW & Mercedes have.
But on the plus side, Audi owners can have that snob appeal that they have the taste to go beyond the typical Malaysian choice.
For me, if I have cash to spare I’d certainly plonk down my money for an Audi.
Come on la, who cares what typical Malaysian think..to me, only 2 things excite me the most, rear lights of Audi A4 and Ducati 1198..such a beauty..Audi A6 is miles more interesting than BMW F10.
How about Kim Kardashian’s butt?
Even if it is going to be all-new A6, top up a bit you get the cantiq X6.
in 3 years time…will be eyeing the recon unit of the sexy beast….heheeh…
Wow! That’s really cool…
Impressive engine that S4 has and S4 has more attractive looks than A6.
that’s quite affordable now!! gonna test drive today!!
wow… malaysian are getting richer…
i believe, it should be the rich are getting richer, and vice versa
Saw one of these in Kuantan during Raya. I thought Audi brought this model in already. Could be from grey importer.
I think i will wait for the A6 2.0 hybrid and hopefully government tax examption for below 2 liter car still stay. Then we got nice car at affortable price :) Pray Pray
The open-pore wood inserts look fasicinating!
A dream car for many and yours truly. It’s stunning with a great chassis and engine..Awesome!!
to be honest, the front, on some angles, look like the lancer/inspira.
(yea i know, go and thumb down my comment. i dont care)
some angle, yes IMHO
Awesome car.
Repulsive price. :(
13k for a set of headlamps? what the heck?
Haha.. My CT200, want to upgrade to LED headlamp, if check with US will cost around $1200. Around RM4K. So Audi A6 almost there.
RM515k and no Satnav. Same for the A8L. Why Audi, Why??
Its not because of Audi.. Its because of the money sucking government
people who can afford such car would not mind spending another Ford Fiesta on fancy gadgets and fancy paints. Spec it all and you are looking at 600k.
B&O so expensive …but as the owner has half than a million ..why not? Many millionnaire in Malaysia including Diamond MLM Manager ha..ha..but as for images..nothing beats Merc.
Looking staid and mundane box. Still no snob appeal like a beemer or merc.
Whoa,the price is quite near A8 3.0 TFSI already.Decisions,decisions~
4 condoms definitely not worth 515k.
Nice price, but I dont think the Audi has navigation as standard. And why the hell they are omitting the foglamps. A bit odd for a car which is priced at half a million to not have one.
Highest spec A6 3.0 is selling at $57k in USA (about RM180k). Who let the price go up so much?
I think the Jaguar XF is the best car in this class. Played and fiddled with one lately, and the big cat really makes the BMW and Mercedes feel like Accord and Camry. The German’s interior is just too cold and scientific, but buying the Jaguar XF on the other hand feels just like marrying an English princess.
Is that Tata The Jaguar damn good?
It is really that good in my opinion.
my proton inspira more beautiful…hhehehehe
ya, coz u can never afford this kinda car, its best consolation to think ur proton is the best looking car..
From that 1st picture, it looks like “lengthen version of persona R”
but jaguar v6 engine is slower than inline 6 bmw. best in class?
In UAE its only AED 234000 = RM 202000.. :(
dear all, test driven the audi last weekend..the power of the car was awesome to say the least…and then went off to test the beemer again as a comparison (528i because they are having a promotion now)..unfortunately the power delivery is not as intoxicating as the audi..previously i was bowled over by the beemer’s performance but not this time around..the power in the beemer is good but the power in the audi is great!!! it felt like i was driving the 4-door version of an r8..lol..anyways to be fair to the beemer, the handling of the audi is still not as reassuring nor as good as the beemer despite the availability of quattro..the steering feel is light and the thin-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel didnt inspire any confidence but boy did it pick up speed fast!!! took a passenger along as well for the test drive in the audi, she sat at the rear and she didnt even complained a bit about the pace we were travelling which goes to show how good the car was at travelling long distance and at high speed..fyi, she is normally a back seat driver and used to being chauffeured driven..so horses for courses..if i was to choose now, i will be facing a dilemma too..audi for great pick up and comfort whilst travelling high speed and the beemer as a driver’s car is still indisputable for its great handling and feel..:)
the 3.0 is to be honest a bit too pricy. my range is of the 2.0. anyone has any test drive reports to share. for RM185,000 lesser i think it is much more a buy.
Paul, the Audi A6 2.0 is out. Is it not?
Could you do a test drive or a review for it. Many would prefer the 2.0 against the 3.0 as it fits a better competitor against the E-class and 5 series.
I am thinking of getting one myself. Haven’t found a good review about the 2.0 online as well.
Am a big fan of your blog. Would appreciate your professional opinion on the 2.0 TFSI multitronic Audi A6.
Concur with Addy: yes, please do!
Saw the A6 2.0 at Audi Glenmarie for RM345k and having a headache comparing this to the F10 520d at RM333k.
Love the A6 interior, but the 2.0 spec that EM brought in isn’t the best.
Plenty of talk about F10 in Malaysia on BMW Malaysia Forums, but nothing on Club Audi about A6.
I agree; the 2.0 A6 is utterly disappointing. Do take note that there’s no quattro as well hence it’s a FWD.
