Might it be that the Honda CR-Z three-door hybrid hatch is set to make its way into the market here soon? The example seen in the pix intimates so – reader Daryl spotted the trade-plated vehicle parked somewhere in Kota Damansara, and snapped a photo of it for us. The car made an appearance last year at KLIMS, but no word then on when it was due in.
The car, which wears a 1.5 litre LEA i-VTEC four-cylinder mill and Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid-electric system offering 122 hp and 174 Nm, will of course benefit from the continued import and excise duty exemption for hybrids that runs until Dec 31, 2013 announced in Budget 2012.
Of interest is whether the car, when it comes, will be equipped with the six-speed manual transmission that’s general issue or wear the optional continuously variable transmission as standard fare here. Guess we’ll find out when someone snaps a photo of the interior!

Six-speed manual? Voila!
Wow, bring it in.

Alright, finally a hybrid with some “ummph”. Granted it is no where near those 2.4 to 3l hybrid. Hope its ride is better then insight.
honda malaysia heard our wish? or is it from grey importer
Finally :D
it will sell like steaming piping hot cakes because of the price. Don’t think anyone will buy satria neo anymore.
Impossibleru.. I, Honda, will milk u kao kaoru… Wakakakaa
think carefully la.. u think CRZ is same price as Neo?
i was really interested when the rumour had it that it was going to be released back in july. but i opted for another car.
the cr-z is a major disappointment anyways
WOW..i cant imagine what happen if gov decide to do the same tax law to no hybrid car..P1 & P2 will dead =)
without tax, Malaysia also dead…
without tax,gomen would be dead ; )
without taxtax.. i ll be dead
taxtax? wth?…
so how much this honda?!
2 or 4 seater?
can tax but with reasonable, currently tax structure make malaysia not gain much revenue from P1 , P2 and naza kia
it will make proton even cheaper..they has been tax half only until now
high chance that it’s a CVT AGAIN!
it will be in cvt. 6 manual is too much for malaysia.
OMG its HERE!!! :D
Booked mine!
First batch will come in only manual, CVT will arrive only next year.
Price should be below 130k
WTB : K20A halfcut
I saw this car a couple of days ago in Lekas highway!! It was awosome
Already booked mine a month ago… Will be out in November. :)
What is the selling price? How many variance (auto and manual) are available? Care to share if you have info.
cvt or 6 speed manual? 6-speed on a 122 hp engine? hmmm…
Is the Jazz 1.3L i-VTEC hybrid also coming in ?
I hope it comes….And Civic Hybrid please…!!
115K… need to wait manufacture year 2012…. :)
which Honda Sales Center accept booking for this?
insight 99k…crz must be 100k++
Come on bring it on!!! I am reserving my year-end bonus for it.
Saw a red one in Kuching last week. I was pleasantly surprised by it, never thought Honda is actually bringing it in to Malaysia. I thought it’s Europe only.
YES and WELCOME. Respect to all new potential owners. You’re paying road tax for a 1.5L but you have the performance of a 2.0L and the fuel efficiency of 1.3L I believe.
lol, on the road tax and and fuel efficiency I agree…
but 2.0L engine? a bit far fetched bro. :)
wont even reach the 2l performance.1.6l i can agree. various car review have even state that this car is not even up to par to even be called sporty.
but at least its a better alternative than the oh-very-slow prius and insight. now ppl with hybrid car can at least feel the acceleration that we normal people have been feeling all this while.
Insight is not slow at all and the S mode is there if you need it. It already have the performance of 1.8L while having the fuel efficiency of a 1.0L! Combined torque is higher than CRZ at 199 NM, don’t know why. Like I said it can do the century sprint in 10 seconds as compared to Inspira 1.8L CVT version which need 11.4 seconds, and Honda City around the same time (with more horsepower but less torque). So I’ve come to a conclusion that horsepower is not everything, torque is more important for most normal drivers.
You can’t have ultra high performance without sacrificing fuel efficiency and difficulty of meeting European emission standards. You can’t have everything at the same time. A lot of sports cars are around for those who want even more speed.
You said it Carl, I love the looks of bewilderment on the faces of so called mid range cars as I pull up a hill and they fall behind…that’s torque!!!!
Thanks man, enjoy your hybrid power :].
It can go from 0-100km/hr in just 8 seconds, so what do you think? Ya because it has a smaller and lighter body. 6 speed manual for performance and CVT for optimum fuel efficiency and easyness of driving.
The headlamp looks like Vios the dugong
Designed by the japs muh, what you expect.
Well if it had the headlamp of honda city. It would look nice :P
NO and CRZ looks a century ahead. I think Vios looks like a turtle….
“The example seen in the pix intimates so…”
Intimates or indicates? Haha!
It’s intimates. :) In transitive verb form, to suggest or disclose discreetly.
buy this car and get js racing ecu, exhaust and bodykit… yummy~~~~
And there goes your warranty……
Finally we can get cars without the G taxes and duties
Wah lao! Finally Honda Malaysia has brought in the Honda CR-Z! It will sell like hot cakes if the price is around RM110K to RM115K. Honda The Power Of Dreams. Bye bye Satria Neo!
Lets bet this priced at say rm110k will sell twice the numbers of forte 2.0 !
I am not surprise it will be selling at RM180k…
No, that will be too expensive. I think it’s more like RM115K.
It looks like a sportcar. Note: looks like.
I just hope that Honda Malaysia bring in the 6-speed manual !!! Don care about the demand of auto tranny , jz bring the 6 speed manual ~
surely la dude..just keep tracking the info
Manual and cvt available. Manual should be cheaper around 120k. Can start booking now. But the dealer told me there will be short of supply from japan once it launch. So faster grab it or mayb u hav to wait till early next year juz can get it
Too pricy for a 1.5 hybrid… With another 10k top up ppl could get the polo GTI which has 180 bhp runing on RON95 and still manage to have 6.3l/km…
Might be?!?! Of course it is unless its a CRX made to look like one…
All you Ah-Bengs get ready your Mugen Power Stickers and B or K series halfcuts!
next month launching, price RM120k, and it’s a sports hybrid..
wat happen to the honda civic hybrid guys?planing to get 1.seems like honda msia website dont include it in the model range.
Booked mine…. Around RM120k. 6MT. Was going to arrive Nov 2011, but now more likely Dec 11 / Jan 12. CVT should arrives Q1 12.
the reference equivalent to 2.0L is not about top end power but rather, just the pulling power at low revs.
like prius, toyota say its 1.8L is equivalent to a modern 2.4. only at the lower bottom rpm where most drivers utilized most of the time…
very few people drives at 5-6K rpm.
Yes man low end torque is the most important. Most people drive with low revs including myself which is more efficient, reduce engine and brake wear and maintenance fees.
What was it doing in Kota Damansara??? So you mean Honda will bring this car?
How much would you pay for this car?
Many failed to notice that hybrid below 2 ltr r not 100% tax free, there is still 10% sales tax, that why Langkawi price is still cheaper by 10%, on top of that + (invinsible tax such as AP cost & corporate tax, + u help me i help u ?? To get business going).
Many take US car price as guide, pls note that price on the website is not nett (there still sales tax (different from state to state), emission tax, vehicle tax, annual inspection, expensive insurance & etc)
Satria neo is myvi standard..
CRZ should compare with Forte Koup or atleast Swift Sport
satria neo r3 is same standard with crz rite?multilink suspension tuu…im still waiting for ford fiesta ecoboost…power!
nope, satria is above myvi in term of performance. absolutely…..
Sorry bro, i beg to differ, my stock engine Myvi run around Satria Neo’s at Pasir Gudang :P
the question is, can this honda outrun myvi 1.5?
satria neo is out of story la….
and how much is the battery?
Estimated RM120k?
US is selling at $20k, it is double the price even after conversion and non-tax??!?
same as Prius, RM70k in US but RM140k here.
is we include AP cost RM10k and sales tax 10%. the price should differ by less than RM20k only! Japanese are really sucking our blood.
If it’s gonna cost RM120k here…. It’s has to be a high spec (leather, sunroof, etc…) to justify……
Prius FOB RM81K, the AP is about 50% then sales tax 10%.
Honda has different AP price but the car will be likely in the range of RM120K~130K…
spotted a S’porean car in Kelana Jaya, no Sunroof, the rear glass is big enough already…
VW Polo / Polo GTI would be a better option.
Cons:
1. Better built
2. More powerful
3. More space
4. Cheaper (Polo without GTI)
5. 5 years warranty
6. Four doors
6. Brand prestige
More value for money getting the VW Polo if the CRZ going to be launched around RM110-RM130K.
today is the launching this nice car at kota damansara .
the price is rm115,000 on the road…for booking of crz..can contact me at 016 – 215 1327 or email at [email protected] .
