Perodua has begun selling the New Myvi 1.3 litre in Mauritius, with the first 22 units already on Mauritian shores. The car, which is available in four variants (AT and MT, in Standard and Premium versions), was launched by Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius, the Honourable Dr Ahmed Rashid Beebeejaun, last week.
Mauritius has long been an export market for the company – since 1996, Rauf Dusmohamud and Co has sold a total of 1,227 Perodua vehicles in the country, with models ranging from the Kancil, Rusa, Kenari, Kelisa and Viva to the Myvi.
Perodua MD Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh expect’s Perodua’s overall sales performance in Mauritius to grow by 67% to 200 units in 2012 from the 120 units expected this year.
He added that P2 is planning to increase its overall export sales to 20,000 units by 2015 from an expected 8,000 units this year.
“This plan, which is a part of our 5-year strategic road map, involves increasing the export volume to our existing markets, while at the same time exploring to new right-hand drive markets that has similar standards as Malaysia,” he said.

Good job Perodua!
Such a positive and good reinforcement statement, and yet so many thumbs down, these pro protonian are really sick in character.

Doubt that people will buy it.
But sales figures have proven you wrong.

Better than Proton. Loser in, and outside the country.
“since 1996, Rauf Dusmohamud and Co has sold a total of 1,227 Perodua vehicles in the country”
1996-2011= 1,227 units. <– u mean according to this figure?
1227 units / 16 years = 76.69 units per year
76.69 units / 12 months = 6.39 units per month
6.39 units / 30 days = 0.213 per day.
WOW a lot!
exactly!!! :D
Copycat co…who really cares abt this?
don’t no how they will pay this expensive car, but getting this ‘cap ayam’ dan ‘tin milo’ quality! blood sucker!!
Just stick back you old cheap potong lo if tak mampu.
I wonder if you ever driven one ? Or just purely you can’t afford it or does not have a license ? Quit blindly bashing with unconstructive cap ayam or tin milo comments. It shows that you are very narrow minded person.
no need to say, like sampan wooo.
don’t have proton in Mauritius…so this “myvi” is half price over there
Proton car is available in mauritius.
only interested about how much will it cost over there, could be cheaper than in boleh land.
good luck to perodua, or any other “national” car companies trying their luck in export market
proton exported 19K units last year, i wonder the numbers for 2011
soon, the roads in Mauritius will be packed full of myvi as malaysia :P
i doubt that :D
Anyone know where can i get automatic car licence
SG and UK
in mauritius friends
Well, the better they fare elsewhere, the earlier we can hope that it doesn’t need to rely on the G to help it’s sales.
can i get an automatic car license instate of a manual license?
Jual dkt negara kuno bolehlah buat duit, try jual dkt europe, sure kena hancurkan by j.clarkson n top gear teams.
what? only 10 units a month and perutdua wants to make a big deal of news from it? don’t be a laughing stock pls!!!
this a proton dominated comment area.
I BET THEY ARE SELLING IT BELOW RM20,000 THERE.
Good job done by P2…but the success would be sweeter if the car is purely designed by Malaysian..
after almost 25 years in tis sector selling cars in quite remote country is not a big deal….who cares!!!!!!!try 2 sell those myvi in 25 different country now that is a big deal
I wanna see it on UK **Top Gear** :D :D
Most of Perodua’s export markets are 3rd world anyway… it’s not like theyre making any real progress. Perodua is sort of suffering from an identity crisis in the west. Those who buy Perodua cars buy for the sake of Japanese technology, nothing more, nothing less.
200 units.. Haiz..Better don’t sell..spoil the name..This is Milo tin car.. Only can sell in Bolehland..Can’t sell in other country.. This car only can tipu the Bolehland people..due to forced to buy..No choice only.
automakers are doing intense research on robots because… they are tyring to make autobots someday?
p2 will have tough time selling these under perodua brand, unless rebadge to daihatsu, the car to similar with toyota and daihatsu
Suddenly all the bad comments on this car got thumb downed. Poor butthurted Myvi owner. :(
” conduite et la maniabilité comme des sampans”
hahahaha, i recognize the word sampans there……….
One question, is it cheaper than the ones we have here after the conversion?
Well at least Perodua is making money…
Compare to P1, their net profit keep on dropping… Same old excuse, blame on Lotus due to long term investment… Why still keep Lotus for what? It’s been so many years wasting money?
http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/11/29/business/20111129133758&sec=business
PETALING JAYA: Automaker Proton’s net profit plunged 76.40% to RM15.55 million for the second quarter ended Sept 30 compared to the same quarter a year ago as expenses in the company’s subsidiary Lotus Group International continued to impact earnings.
P2 don’t have R&D, P1 about to release more new models in the next near future.
Can some one mind telling us, what price they selling at Mauritius?
The previous model of myvi is also sold in mauritius. However, the 2 top selling models r viva and kelisa.. the basic viva model is at RM 30,000 and for previous model MYVI is arnd RM 50,000. Viva is one the cheapest brand new car you will find in mauritius.
Do you know how big Mauritius?..is it possible to sell more then 1k unit per year?
otherwise it will become car”s island.
aiyoooo…..think la..
i can tell you that perodua viva is an excellent car i bought one in june 2012 and im satisfy
well as I always say P2 is only good in malaysia but outside it is viewed like shit
Proton may not be the best car out there but you must agree that with a small amaunt of cash they can make a whole car in just 18 months not every carmaker can manage that
And you also forget that in the UK they have more brands than any ware alse but still you can see quit a few proton there ….and i also notice that they are aware of proton even the old folks know who this carmeker is …in fact in malaysian they have a bad reputation but in UK they are known for being relible motors and it is not because of the UK speck thing it is because of the cold whether where less components need to work like AC /
