      • The Truth about the E90 on Dec 10, 2011 at 9:33 pm

Buying the E90 is suicide now since the F30 has already been launched, Your resale value will drop so much that your value of the car won’t even cover the loan amount when you sell the car. Don’t fall for the tricks of BMW. All those who bought the E60, once the F10 came out, their cars went half in value so fast. So, yes, you can get a 20 or 30 thousand discount now, but by next year, if you decide to sell your car, it will hardly be worth even RM150,000.

The BMW salesman main agenda now is to clear huge amount of existing E90 stock and they will tell you everything sweet. But when you sell your car, you may have to sell your backside to pay off over RM100,000 to the bank that the sale of the car could not cover the loan amount.

20%? I saw only around 5% discount for 320d demo car but with lower interest compared with new car. Might as well get brand new model. Anyway, felt like BMW really not sincere in their offers because it’s based on outgoing models or less popular models. i didn’t see my dream car 520d in the list, so disappointed.

      u r so funny! F90! :)

btw, if they realized how much the new BMW3 going to cost (please check out the UK website of the % increase of E90 and F30)…it may not be a bad deal to get some E90 last batch..depends what u want though.

It will only launch 2012, first batch coming heard is over RM300K, then take another year to local assemble normally.

bear in mind, buying last batch of a model, the depreciation will instantly drop a lot when the new model launch~

so giving this extra bonus should counter the drop of depreciation cost?

i will wait for the new F30 !

so when lauch, its only 328 and 335 right?
    when will the 320 available?

      Agree.
The way i see it, buying an E90 now

Pros: Late models are more reliable and has less problems generally
Better spec. Heck, even 320i comes with idrive nowadays
      Big discounts.
      5 years free service
BMW legendary 6cyl engines in 323/325. New ones are 4 cyl mostly and 6 cyls are reserved only for 335 if im not mistaken

      Cons: Instant depreciation
Your car will be old fashioned when the new one comes out.

So its your pick.If you can live with the fact that you are still paying 2-3k monthly installment over 7 years for a car that is already one generation behind and worst, by the time u are done with installment, probably the successor to F30 is out already by then. But if you are ok with that, then you get to enjoy a fine piece of engineering at a much lower entry price.

Agreed with TurboMan that there are some merits in buying the E90 now. The exterior design of F30 is much pretty much the same as E90 (with some minor changes of course), unlike the radical changes from E60 to E90. Like all BMW 3 -series, the current cars are almost perfect, so there’s hardly anything more that we can ask for in new generation cars with the exception of engine changes. Newer F30 should be more powerful and maybe slightly more economical compared to the current E90. Other than that, I don’t see major changes. So if you’re planning to keep the car for long term, I think current E90 still a good buy especially when the price went even lower once the new F30 launched. If you plan to change car every 3 years or so, then current E90 is a bad choice.

Better wait until BMW Malaysia launch the F30 here. The discount % and free service package does not cover the depreciation of your car when the F30 comes out. All marketing gimmicks if u ask me.
