The Malaysian leg of the Global Ranger Challenge has officially kicked off, giving us Malaysians a chance to put the famous “Built Ford Tough” claim to the ultimate test by taking the new Ranger through tough, real-life challenges.
Submit your ideas for the challenge at the Malaysia Ranger Challenge website, and five lucky entrants will be selected to get behind the wheel to turn their idea into reality.
Not only will these five be the first consumers in Malaysia to test the Ranger T6, the one with the best challenge (as chosen by the public) will drive away with his/her very own new Ranger XLT 2.2L Manual!
Examples of challenges might be testing if it’s comfy enough to camp in it for 48 hours straight, or show what you would tow with it’s towing capacity of over 3 tonnes, or even testing its horsepower and torque by taking it off-road. Be creative about it – you can check out the Global Ranger Challenge of other countries such as Australia or South Africa to get some inspiration.
Entries can be submitted to www.fordrangerchallenge.com.my. Submit your idea in the form of a short story of 200 words or less, or a recorded video. A new Ranger will then be loaned to each of the five finalists, who will carry out their nominated challenge with the help of a professional film crew provided by Ford. Footage will be uploaded to the Global Ford Ranger Challenge website for the public to view and vote.
The winner of the truck will be announced at the launch event of the new Ranger in Malaysia. Additionally, people who vote online will be entered into a lucky draw for a range of prizes. Online voting will happen throughout the month of May.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
haha top that toyota! for years you’ve been peddling the same crap with your outdated engines and non existent ESP! TOP THIS!!
drive from keningau to lembah danum in sabah thru kalabakan road ,go into 1 of the logging tracks n went back, during the rainy season, rally style. if it can survive there, it can survive anywhere in malaysia(n probably the world)
& may i add, the only modification can be made to the car is changing the tyre to A/T or A/T special (no M/T here) , a snorkel n a heavy duty winch…
and don’t forget they have to go up to keningau via kimanis! these west malaysians have no idea what kinda roads we have here – took a few of them that road and they were pissin their pants “jalan ape nihhh” haha pansies!!
thanks for the idea hehe
wow, this makes me want to try this out one day!
not for the faint of heart and always travel before 3pm! the last time i came down that road some guy in a hilux had to slam into the drains on the right – had he not, he would have shot off the road and flew off the hill!
lets see if this monster can climb this mighty hilly road without dropping its gear to gear two or maybe even gear 1.
2nd gear climb is easy, even hilux vigo without mods can do it…
Can’t even register ?? Challenge ended b4 it get started !!
What is the price. I wanna buy!
im in confusion. im thinking of buying the toyota hilux.. the car is reliable and it is cheap to run. the 2nd hand value is also good.. but this car is sooo much hotter! more powerful. but how about the maintenance and the 2nd hand value.. as far as i know, fords 2nd hand value goes down pretty badly. hmmmmm….
If you like it just buy it……stop worrying about 2nd hand value…
