Started with the F10 M5, and was amazed at how good it was despite the bulk and size of the car. Brutal is the right word, with every gear shift, my head snapped back. Hardly any understeer either. Then I tried the E92 M3, and it was simply marvellous, and completely overshadow the F10 M5 on the track. The M3 is much more nimble, sharper, has better soundtrack and gets your heart racing more. The DCT gearshifts are not as violent as the M5 due to the low end power/torque difference, but it was much more composed and natural on the track. Only “gripe” with the M3 is that the center dash dials are really “basic” with the orange LCD display vs. the full color high res display on the M5. Thats the first thing I noticed when I got into the M3. Makes the car feel a little “old” in that sense. But once I got moving on the track, that shortfall is quickly forgotten.

I must say it is indeed a nasty piece of machine. But on the other hand, there’s the AMG and also the RS quattro. Based on driving experience, the RS6 growls better. Sounds sportier and ride and handling compared to the E61 is better on a personal note. No idea how it will perform in the F10.

It handles brilliantly and fun to tackle twisty corners. The NA V8 is ecstasy. Heard the coming M3 will be turbocharged and 500+ bhp. :)
