Jaguar has given its XFR an extra dose of speed. The Jaguar XFR Speed Pack features a speed limiter raised to 280 km/h, from 250 km/h.
The super saloon’s supercharged 5.0 litre AJ-V8 Gen III engine with 510 PS and 625 Nm remains, but there’s revised engine and gearbox (eight-speed automatic) calibration to match the increased top speed. A new front aero splitter and a new rear wing distinguish the Speed Pack car.
The XFR Speed Pack was unveiled at the Moscow Motor Show, where Jaguar also announced all-wheel drive variants of the XF and XJ saloons in selected markets from model year 2013.
The AWD system is paired exclusively to Jaguar’s new 3.0 litre V6 supercharged petrol engine in 340 PS/450 Nm form, driving through an eight-speed auto with Stop/Start. It’s a “continuously variable” system that always monitors grip levels and driver inputs to both pre-empt and react to wheel-slip.
