UPDATE: More pics and info added.
It wasn’t all that long ago when the Peugeot RCZ coupe landed on our shores, but the fact remains that it’s been in production for more than two years now, and it’s now time for a makeover. The French carmaker has released first official pictures ahead of the facelifted car’s appearance at the Paris motor show later this month. European sales are set to begin in the first quarter of next year.
We can see the RCZ has been brought up to speed with its 508 and 208 brethren in the looks department. Peugeot has wiped the previous car’s huge smile off its face and replaced it with a smaller grille and a new front bumper that carries daytime-running LEDs.
Headlamps are new, as are the Peugeot bonnet and boot logos – that black background and chrome surround are no more. Darkened are its tail lamps now, and new wheel designs complete the exterior updates.
Engines on the menu are a 1.6 litre THP in 156 and 200 hp states of tune, and a 163 hp 2.0 litre diesel. It seems that for the Euro market, only the lower-powered THP engine gets an automatic gearbox option. Both manual and automatic gearboxes have six speeds.
Buyers can choose from three roof arch colours (Aluminium, Sand or Matt Black) or even have a carbon roof in either a Matt or Satin finish. There are 10 alloy wheel designs to choose from, and Bistre and Moroccan Red are new additions to the six existing colours on offer.
Standard kit includes an acoustic windscreen, automatic wipers and headlamps, electrochromatic interior mirror and guide-me-home and approach lighting.
There have been special editions of the RCZ launched prior to this facelift – the latest of which was the RCZ Onyx for the French and German markets – but Peugeot will show another at Paris called the RCZ R (more on this hot version very soon).
The line-up that has so far been confirmed to attend Paris also includes the 208 GTi, 208 XY and Onyx supercar concept (not to be confused with the RCZ Onyx).
What do you think – has the pretty Pug gotten prettier?
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
nice!!!!!
nothing special… hurm..
OMG looks so nice ! VW should learn from them !
muahahha… is like asking the japanese to learn from proton?? lolzzz..
The french should learn how to build a PROPER CAR from the German…
Le Mans Audi won 11 times.. and Peugeot how many???
Peugeot won it 3 times. 1992, 1993 and 2009. They may not be as good as Audi but please don’t compare them to Proton. I would rather spend 225K for a rcz over 350K for a TT. My choice.
schweeett~!
The facelift version makes the car look less aggressive. Still prefer the original grille.
yup agree….i hope they don’t intend to market this baby to the ladies and make it a ladies car with the new look!
this looks better.
nice one.. a rather sporty front look now. i like… but one thing though.. Peugeot cars tend to have a loud and noisy engine/aircon sound.. i can hear it from a few meters away.. what about the RCZ.. how does it sound like when idle?
Damn! The outgoing RCZ looks nice, but this, looks even better!
The original person who led the the design for the preve got fired by proton and went to peugeot and design this
………I wish this statment was true
This looks properly pretty. Much, much better than the outgoing RCZ. And the tail lights are similar to the 991.
991 taillight? you sure?
Good job Peugeot! This looks jaw jaw droppingly beautiful!
Wahlauweh…!! Damn cun!
Headlights a bit California-like. But still awesome-looking.
cantik. wish that replacement for 308 will have same front end. this front end, that thp200 engine, 6 speed manual, wet dream for average salary earner…
exterior look even better ,but steering wheel still dull… Peugeot need to workout interior harder.
Walaweyyy…so cuteee.
But, my heart still with Scirocco…sorry…hehe
Good write up and update Jonathan, Peugeot will also have the 2008 in Paris for its debut too!
The 260hp RCZ R looks promising!
i wonder how does the Sand roof arch looks like
from “budak nakal” face to “budak comel” face..
Got to see the real car to tell if it really looks better than the current RCZ. Certain angles, the car looks better, certain angles, the car looks less agressive compared to the current one. Even the current one looks better in flesh than in pictures.
The current one looks better.. I love my current RCZ. I will only change the current one with ONYX if it’s available on our local market..
Like the new logo, led.
The grill IMO is too small. Less aggressive as compare to the current model.
Facelift should be available early next year in UK, but Malaysia should be much later.
I still like and enjoy my current RCZ.
RCZ or CRZ?
IMHO, I really don’t feel Peugeot’s new corporate grille especially in the RCZ and 3008. It fits some models (like the 208 and 508) though.
Beautiful car, don,t forget to check out the interior which is miles ahead of vw, jap or dare I say even BMW. Not Audi standard yet but still impressive. Only deltas are the engine (1.6) and the “ass” is to wide from certain angles. Overall in my opinion a great looking car deserving of a better engine….say a 2 liter tai……with about 250 ponies
