Toyota Agya makes it a double debut at IIMS

The Daihatsu Ayla’s twin, the Toyota Agya, also made its debut at IIMS earlier today. Like the Ayla, the same three-cylinder 1KR-FE 1.0 litre mill – despite the fancier engine code used by Daihatsu for its unit – powers the car, and output figures are identical.

The Agya is available in three variant forms, the medium Grade E, high Grade G and the TRD S. Exterior-wise, the Grade G features a chrome grille and door handles, side protective moulding as well as a sporty rear spoiler to help differentiate it from the E.

As for the TRD S version, it gets dressed up with an aerokit (front and rear splitters, side skirts) and TRD S stickers and emblem. Like the Ayla, six exterior colour choices abound.

Inside, both the TRD S and Grade G models get the works – a 2-DIN head unit with USB and aux input, with plenty of chrome finish trim to be found. In the kit list are electric power steering, a multi-function display and dual airbags.

The Agya features a front disc/rear drum brake system, and the TRD S and G wear 14-inch alloys with 175/65 rubbers, while the E is shod with 13-inch steel wheels and 155/80 profile tyres.

Other numbers are a 180 mm ground clearance (presumably the same for the Ayla) and a 33 litre capacity fuel tank. And like the Ayla, transmission choices are a five-speed manual or four-speed auto.

Just in case you are not aware, Toyota owns a majority stake in Daihatsu.

In fact, all Daihatsu uses Toyota engines and Chasis. Just some minor cosmetic differences

Sory this is a viva not a myvi. Peroduo production is majority own by daihatsu anyway and it is a company under toyota. All peroduo production car has been based on daihatsu model so i don’t find it strange that they look alike as this uses the same plat form as the daihatsu cars. So this would definately be the new viva i guess

    • I agree, it’s a viva.. Wonder why no ppl notice it, issit because it has a toyota badge? Toyota badge so keng? If put on kapcai then kapcai will fly o not?

For those who said Toyota copycat peroduo. Please get ur fact straight. Daihatsu owns 35% of peroduo n Toyota own 51.2% of Daihatsu. So do the logic. Unless U are brainless. Idiots.

    • Stella Julian on Sep 24, 2012 at 9:52 pm

Because this is toyota. Agya is for Toyota and Ayla is for Daihatsu. They are twins, but Ayla have a poor specification than Agya. But the fact is toyota agya made by daihatsu. Toyota just rebadge from daihatsu.

this is an original indon designer from Astra Toyota-Daihatsu Indonesia team. not copying from Viva a.k.a Mira Gen.7 or Myvi 2011 a.k.a Toyota Passo / Boon.
Perodua only copying from original Daihatsu Designs where it held by Toyota.

better Perodua also must create the new style car with bigger RIM not the 14″ wheel with 155/55 tyre.. if the Agya cost is below than Viva… better think again about the Viva price.. Please Perodua make something is better for people in lower cost condition but the is good as the price.
