No it dont get them from marketing videos but car forums. i have to say i am no engineer though.

Much better than the older 911 in terms of handling and power. The electric steering is a thing of magic. You can still feel the car’s movement and able to determine the traction of the tyres so that you are always on the limit of traction.

So I am not surprised about the new 911 doing very well compared with the older turbo car at the Ring. Now all I need to do is find that RM 1 million lying about somewhere to get this car :)

Say what you will about modern 911s. That is one fast car. But the driver is also flattering it. Look at the way he pumps the throttle mid corner to manage the grip. That’s very Senna like.

And having said that antics like these in an older 911 would see you spinning off in the gravel long before the lap is completed.

And FYI on the race track all brakes need to be warmed up not necessarily carbon ceramic. There are plenty of steel discs and sports pads out there that perform better the hotter it gets. Don’t be fooled by car maker marketing.

Porsche seems to be doing a lot of promotions with the 991 after receiving a less than glowing reception from hardcore 911 owners and the European automotive press. It’s a great car but its so unlike previous 911s. Worst of all it has that horrible electric steering. Personally I think electric is crap. Devoid of feel and fun.

It takes more than Nurburgiring lap times and straight line speed to make a great fun sportscar. But I guess it will enjoy even broader appeal to the rich but pretentious and know nothing about driver’s car crowd than ever before. Videos like these give the airheads more bragging rights I suppose.
