No doubt petrol version will consume more fuel (i.e. less fuel efficient) than the diesel version, but RM60,000 ?? That’s a lot of ‘extra’ fuel I can buy to compensate for this..

Even BMW X5′s pricing gap of petrol and diesel versions are much smaller (3litre twin turbo petrol 35i vs 3litre turbo diesel 3.0d)

The base price is designed to attract people to come into the showroom. But when you spec it up to equipment levels that match its competitors and even the Touareg TDI, it actually becomes pretty expensive and the gap becomes big.
