Audi in the UK is offering “Black Edition” specs for the Audi A6 Saloon, A6 Avant and A7 Sportback models.
The main Black Edition distinguishing feature are the rotor-design alloys with a dark titanium finish. The huge wheels (20in for A6, 21in for A7) are matched with lowered sports suspension, which is a standard feature of the S line models on which the new Black Edition spec is based.
Other external cues include black finishing for the grille, number plate surrounds and window frame strips; privacy glass extending from the B-pillar rearwards and black roof rails on the Avant.
Inside the very dark cabin, you’ll find Piano Black inlays, black Valcona leather and black headlining. For the A6, the already long S line kit list is expanded by a Bose surround sound system, DAB digital radio and the Audi Music Interface (AMI) for iPod connection. The A7 Sportback gains just the Bose upgrade, as it already features DAB and AMI as standard from SE spec and above.
Audi says that the new Black Edition spec is an ideal accompaniment to the 3.0 litre BiTDI engine with a mighty 313 PS and 650 Nm of torque, although it can be paired with all engines from the 177 PS 2.0 TDI upwards, excluding S models. In the A7 Sportback, Black can be had in all bar the FWD 3.0 TDI and S7.
