Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster – CF roof

This stunning piece of carved metal is the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, the drop top version of Sant’ Agata’s flagship Aventador hypercar, of which 1,300 units have already found new owners. Some of those owners were in support of our Datuk Lee Chong Wei’s wedding, as you saw here earlier this week.

The new Aventador Roadster can immediately be recognised by the unique profile of its upper area, which extends along newly designed geometric lines from the removable roof to the engine hood. The rear pillar has been redesigned to offer support for the removable roof, accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers, and provide the engine with ample ventilation.

Those rims are new forged aluminum “Dione” units, available in 20- or 21-inch sizes. They lower the weight of the car by 10 kg over the standard wheels.

The engine hood on the Roadster also differs from the lid on the coupé because of its central “spinal column” with two pairs of hexagonal windows. This car, in the new metallic blue Azzuro Thetiis colour, is origami art at its best, and quite a sight.

The two-piece roof is made entirely from carbon fibre using various tech such as RTM and Forged Composite. Each component is very light, weighing less than 6 kg. The two parts are removable, easy to handle, and being lightweight and simple to attach, can be stored in the car’s front luggage compartment.

The powered rear windshield not only influences air flow in the vehicle, but also “controls the experience of the sound” from the engine. The wind deflector, on the other hand, delivers “almost complete calm” inside the car, even at high speed. It rests on the front windshield frame and can likewise be stored in the “boot” when not in use.

The 6.5 litre normally-aspirated V12 makes 700 hp, and when paired to Lambo’s new ISR seven-speed gearbox, the Aventador Roadster can do 0-100 km/h in three seconds flat and a top speed of 350 km/h. The V12 has a cylinder deactivation system and the Stop & Start system includes high-performance capacitors (known as supercaps) to wake the engine up.

No RV, haha, it’s from someone.
Well, won’t care about the mechanism and durability of the doors as well. We are not going to use it for, say, 20OOO times.
    This car is cantiq.

i think operating the roof manually is a little bit out dated, hassle and time consume.
lamborghini should studying how ferrari does with their 458 spider and mclaren deal with their mp4-12c spider (both rear engine) to operate their roof electronically..
their reason for maintain traditional way is to avoid additional weight for such technology is unacceptable.
anyway, i still vote aventador as the best supercar..

With Malaysia unpredictable climate, I think its better to have fixed roof. Sunroof maybe, but not convertible.

    • I don’t think that feature is hurting sales in any way. No one buys the Aventador for its ‘user-friendliness’

8 units booked in SG before price announcement. Our J/Kgs there can’t even compete with these all time low volume distributors IN TERM OF NUMBER, NOT VALUE…
