Isuzu D-Max X-Series – add red for bold flavour

Isuzu D-Max X-Series – add red for bold flavour

More flashy pick-up trucks from Thailand Motor Expo, but unlike the Mazda BT-50 Thrilling we showed you earlier, this Isuzu D-Max X-Series is for sale. Once again, changes are mostly cosmetic, in and out, although they’ve thrown in Isuzu Genius Entry, which is a keyless entry and start system.

The X-Series is available in low riding Speed and high riding Hi-Lander forms – the latter comes with a choice of king cab or double cab while the Speed is two-door only. It is powered by Isuzu’s 2.5 litre VGS turbo engine with 136 hp and 320 Nm of torque from 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. King cab models are M/T only, but the four-door Hi-Lander can be paired to a five-speed automatic ‘box with Rev Tronic manual override.

Isuzu D-Max X-Series – add red for bold flavour

Compared to the rest of the D-Max range, X-Series trucks get a dark grey grille with the big Isuzu logo in red. The wheels are in a matching grey tone, and there are body stripes that run the spine of the bonnet and tailgate. Hi-Lander models get a “shark-fin” antenna and sports bar. Notice the reverse camera that’s neatly integrated into the tailgate handle.

Inside, the X is marked by the colour red, which can be found on the seats, steering wheel logo and stitching. One can only choose from black or white, but the Hi-Lander gets pearl white paint.

This new Isuzu D-Max was launched in Thailand back in September 2011, which makes one wonder when will Isuzu Malaysia bring it in.

Just ONE question. When is it coming to Malaysia?
It would be selling like hot cakes in Sarawak and Sabah.

It’s the same except for the engine. I believe Isuzu are keeping the current engines.

Bring the all-new 2.5 twin turbo diesel engine delivers 163 PS (400 Nm of torque) It is already selling in the UK with that specs.

Don’t bring the whole engine. Otherwise cannot sell well. Nissan Navara oredi got 2.5 diesel with 172 hp and 403 Nm

Who wants to buy new car with lower Horsepower and Torque, when the current market oredi offer high specs

  • Isuzu always comes with low HP and Torque. But no doubt very durable. I tried 3.0 litre current, it can get neck to neck with hilux 3.0. Amazing.

  • Beautiful pickup truck. Excellent design. A sure seller.

Btw, don’t be bring the outdated diesel engine.

As always, outstanding cars and trucks are always in the hands of Malaysian dealers who are not interested & not passionate enough to give the best for customers.

They are more interest of reselling for profitability on the short term rather than building long-term customer relationship.

Isuzu Malaysia, make sure this car comes with the bi-turbo 163 hp twin-turbo & 400 Nm of torque.

See if you are really passionate enough to bring and get the updated diesel engine or just selling trucks.
