KL MRT: Night closure of right-most lane on two stretches of Jalan Damansara for a week

More traffic flow restructuring, related to ongoing KL MRT construction. There will be a night closure of the right-most lane on Jalan Damansara from December 5 to 11, and this will involve two stretches for a length of 100 metres in both directions (KL-bound and LDP-bound).

The first stretch affected by this closure is in front of the Fire and Rescue Services Department Building (Bomba), while the other is further down the road in front of the former Caltex Station. Both stretches in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) will be closed from 11 pm to 5 am daily during the period.

According to MRT Corp director of strategic communications & PR, Amir Mahmood Razak, the closure is to facilitate piloting works for utility relocation at the sites. “We have planned the lane closure during non-peak hours, so as to minimise impact to traffic movement,” he said.

As per usual, safety barriers, traffic cones and traffic flagmen will be at the work site to ensure road users are pre-warned of on-going works.

Other MRT work locations as of now are the SPRINT from Jalan Maarof heading towards Damansara (trial closure until December 5), Jalan Cheras (until December 31), SPRINT from Bukit Kiara to Jalan Maarof (until November 14, 2013), Jalan Bukit Bintang (until February 2014) and access to Jalan Bulan from Jalan Bukit Bintang (closed until December 2016).

All this traffic jam caused by the MRT project, is the government going to compensate us by reducing toll charges? or give us tax rebates for the more fuel we spend because of closures.

Good la it’s a night closure, rather than during rush hour. Any info on exactly when the road closures start? Around 9-10pm perhaps?

      BL,

Ooh er, I took it out inadvertently while editing the copy. It’s 11 pm to 5 pm – have appended it into the story.
