Brabus B63-620 Widestar – pumping up the G 63 AMG

Brabus latest rework job is with the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG, and the B63-620 Widestar is the result of the efforts. Leading things off is an increase in output from the 5.5 litre V8 Biturbo.

Boost pressure has been moderately increased, and the mapping for ignition and injection has been recalibrated, resulting in a hike in power output from the base 544 hp to 620 hp at 5,750 rpm. Torque goes from 760 Nm to 820 Nm, available between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm.

The increase in output numbers brings the 0-100 km/h time down to 5.1 seconds, with top speed limited electronically to 230 km/h. The Widestar wide-body version vehicle runs with 23-inch Brabus Platinum Edition Monoblock E, F or R forged wheels, wrapped with 305/35 series rubbers.

Also in the mix, a fully stainless-steel Brabus sport exhaust system with butterfly valve – two tailpipes on either side, exiting in front of the rear wheels, come available in either a standard or black chrome finish.

Elsewhere, the G-Class’ multifunction steering wheel now features aluminium shift paddles, and the the reworked G also wears a Brabus Dynamic Ride Control suspension with automatic damper adjustment.

Customisation being the usual fare, the vehicle’s interior can be tailored to an owner’s individual preferences, with Brabus Mastik or Alcantara available in a multitude of colors. A plethora of upholstery design and wood inlays choices await the buyer; upon request, the wood inlays can be ordered in any desired color, including an especially exclusive yachting-design finish.

I hope they will stop tinkering with the classic-look of this G-Wagen. It’s getting uglier and uglier after each mods..
