Much has been said about the Toyota 86, including its poise, balance and dynamism – and how a little more under-bonnet brawn would do it no harm. Well, Japanese fettlers GAZOO Racing have released some teaser images of their take on the 86, daintily christened the GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum.
An evolution of last year’s GRMN Sports FR Concept, the car gets a supercharger added to its 2.0 litre flat-four, resulting in 330 hp and 431 Nm of torque. The pics tease little – we can see a rear wing, unique headlamps, tail lamps that echo those of the Mk IV Supra, an aerokit and some eight-spoke 18-inch alloys. We can expect the interior to be given the race-inspired treatment as well.
GAZOO Racing will be bringing this to the Tokyo Auto Salon, so we’ll undoubtedly have more details in two weeks’ time.

At last some nice meaty numbers
i like…
Beware!!! The beast is being unleashed.
Can’t wait to see it full~!!
i prefer this rear light than the current one..
Agreed. To me the current rear lights of the 86 is such a turn off.
Finally arrived, not a T but S. Only with this, this car can be sold at the UMW price (for the common people as an entry level sports car of course). I like to see Toyota using better techs and less cost-cuttings; as a commercial market leader, their vehicles should not become bad examples.
Finally…. but as the car is “Limited Edition” price (maybe) too expensive..
They should come out a version that is tuned by idiot.
This is clearly show that Toyota are not not really good in design sporty car compared to other OEM tunners
not too sure about the current lights
This is just like the Initial D movie…a tuned up to bring the beast within it!
*Excited*
You say supercharger, but it writes ‘Turbo’ on the red flashy cover..
Ahh who gives a crap.. any horsepower is much welcomed..
