We believe that you’ve checked out some, if not all, of the Petronas Switch for XTRA Road Challenge videos that we’ve featured over the past few months. To recap, the Road Challenge is the second phase of the #Switch4XTRA campaign after the Petronas Switch For XTRA Race, which saw fans vote for their favourite celebrities in a virtual popularity race.
The four personalities – Awal Ashaari, Scha Alyahya, Faizal Bin Ismail (FBI) and Hanis Zalikha – and their teammates travelled all over Malaysia to complete fun (and funny) challenges with the locals. That’s where the celebs’ persuasion skills and social media power came into play.
If you remember, Team Awal’s challenge was to complete three tasks at the XTRACK event in Pahang involving an F1 simulator, pocket bike and drifting, while his wife’s team (that’s Scha Alyahya) had to gorge themselves with food. Thankfully, it was delicious Penang fare!
Team FBI’s teaser video, featuring Hot FM DJ Faizal Bin Ismail, was the most viewed clip in the campaign
Popular Hot FM DJ Faizal, a.k.a. FBI got the Johor crowd in stitches by getting random people to do an exercise routine, while blogger Hanis Zalikha and her gal pals had to convice Ipoh shoppers to star in a video clip, which they had to also edit and post up online.

An announcement will be made by Petronas soon, whereby the winning team will be officially revealed. The team with the highest number of collective video views will be crowned champion, and they will walk away with RM10,000 cash, to be divided 50:50 between the two team members.
