Holden’s new VF Commodore, which was previewed by the VF Calais V showcar earlier in the week, has again shown off its upcoming form, this time in sported-up fashion. The US-bound Chevrolet SS Sports Sedan is due to be unveiled, and ahead of that comes the VF SS V, which has been amped up a little.
What’s on the VF SS V offers a different take than that earlier in the week; where the Calais V show vehicle emphasised luxury, the SS V offers a more performance-oriented outlook for the new Commodore. Leading the parade is an eye-catching custom Kandy ‘Fantale’ orange metallic paint specially created for the show car, contrasted against gloss black 20-inch twin five-spoke wheels.
Sport elements include front Brembo brake calipers done in gloss silver, projector headlamps with black bezels and a host of accent items finished in custom gunmetal chrome, these being the sports grille, lower air intake, vertical fender vents and window surrounds.
Inside, the SS V benefits from a sleek, new interior design layered with up-scale finishes of suede, galvano chrome, gloss black and perforated leather with accent stitching. Motorsport-inspired touches to the detailing include a carbon-fibre look cross-car applique, stitched leather instrument binnacle and sports profile leather steering wheel.

beautiful car from chevrolet
Well, looks are to everyone eyes, and I don’t share your view. But is your first positive comment I’ve seen, thumps up.
What your problem. When i see this car good, so i will say its good. When not, so i will critic. Is it wrong?
I have no problem, I’ve just notice that most of your past comments are actually rather negative, and this is the first time I am seeing a positive comment from you.
And I am actually testing my Gravatar, still fails.
WOW… looks like what an updated + upgraded P1 Perdana would look like. Nice. Wouldn’t mind at all if they brought this in and rebadged as P1 Perdana replacement. Just wishful thinking.
that is sooooo Mazda6-ishhhh
Yes it really does ! Looks like Mazda 6 beautiful cousin
im thinking subaru-ish
well so this is new Holden Commodore…. a friend of mine migrated to Australia in 2008 and said he will buy this car after 3 years….until now still can’t afford even a used Commodore…
I’m driving a VE Holden COMMODORE Berlina 3.0 V6 as a company car here in Australia. In the past year, I have driven the new Camry, Accord Euro, Mazda 6, Ford XR6 and Mondeo. These cars are all under the big sedan category with price ranging from AUD30k to 40k. I can fairly say that the Japanese cars are nowhere near the Holden and Ford ones in terms of performance and handling etc. Probably the only pros of the Japanese cars is reliability. It’s such a pity that Malaysia doesn’t have the XR6 and Commodore. They are great cars.
I like the previous design a lot more than this one. This newest model looks a little bit like Mazda + Chrysler = Fugly Chevy. :3
Proud to be an Aussie! The Commodore is so iconic here. We even owned a previous shape VE SS (V8) for 15 months. Loved it!
