Peugeot 308 Griffe Turbo – 308-unit run, RM133k

peugeot 308 griffe 1

Rather quietly, the Peugeot 308 Griffe Turbo made its way into Malaysian showrooms earlier this month, and it happens to be a limited edition run of 308 units. The Griffe designation incorporates more equipment and offers the car a bit more flash and a sportier outlook. There’s no shout about the car just yet, but an ad for the car has popped up on oto.my, and it’s mentioned on the Peugeot Malaysia website.

Externally, the Peugeot 308 Griffe features a GTI rear spoiler, carbon fibre effect bodykit, 17-inch five twin-spoke Dark Stromboli design alloys finished in a gun-metal shade and directional smoked bi-xenon headlamps.

Inside, there are semi-bucket leather/fabric combination seats, complete with red stitching – the last also dresses up the handbrake handle, steering wheel and gear lever. White instrument dials and special Griffe carpet mats (yes, with red stitching) are also on.

No changes to the running gear, with the 156 hp 1.6 litre THP 156 coninuing as is, mated to a six-speed automatic. As for pricing, the 308 Griffe is listed at RM132,888, on-the-road with insurance.

only cosmetic changes and price increase?

not worth spending that money even though it’s limited to 308 units. at least a remap ECU to develop more power la.

i think the 10k covers on the bixenons and the rim…those i beleive are not made in msia stuff. thus the price.

Rims and bi-xenon worth RM10K? that’s very expensive. seriously, the price is not justified. if it is increased by RM5K, it is still not too bad.

not just bi xenon alone..but directional xenon+auto height adjust, projector headlamp+washer. Can elaborate/prove the true cost of this upgrade?

Sad to see peugeot here going the way of toyota. Add body kit, change rims, charge extra.

Might as well go to the aftermarket shops. Especially for current owners

    • you won’t be able to get the directional xenons from the accessory shops and those non-original circuits may burn fuses leading to warranty problems.

They pocketed some profit from this model but not much. Those adaptive xenons don’t come cheap and lets not forget they added some leather and semi bucket seats in plus under lip service too.

  • In malaysia such type of carroserie makes people feel good. Look at Toyota, only body kit changes, same engine, same shocks same suspension same chasis, and people pay 20 K more for TRD trim. Peugeot is following the same, which I dont think is a good thing to do. One day malaysians will learn and realize that a body kit is required only if the car performance is enhanced too, such as engine generating 280 HP etc.
