PS4 video game gives early peek at Merc CLA 45 AMG

CLA 45 AMG im neuen Rennspiel Driveclub™

As the next-generation Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) is claimed to have picture-perfect in-game graphics, Mercedes-Benz has seen it fit to give us a preview of the upcoming CLA 45 AMG performance four-door coupe in digital form, as rendered in one of the gaming console’s launch titles, Driveclub.

The CLA 45 AMG will have its real world premiere at the New York motor show later in March, following its mechanical-twin, the A 45 AMG’s debut in Geneva.

Both models share the same 360 hp, 450 Nm turbocharged 2.0 litre engine matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission driving all four wheels. Its performance figures should match that of the A 45 AMG, which is to say it’ll get to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Only the picture above is released, giving us a look at the twin exhaust arrangement and rear diffuser. Apart from the model-appropriate badges on the boot and front fenders, the rest of the car looks identical to the regular Mercedes-Benz CLA that’s equipped with the optional AMG Sport package. More details to follow when the car is revealed in full.

As of the racing game, it is developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc’s Evolution Studios. Evo who? They’re the people behind the much-loved WRC franchise on the PS2 and more recently, the PS3’s MotorStorm series. Driveclub will be launched alongside Sony’s next generation console in the last quarter of this year.

If the game physics turn out like WRC franchise, this is going to fail big time.

No body makes better racing games than Polyphony Digital. Period.
